June 27, 201511 yr B I respect point #2 . My point was not a slight on any of those guys but common sense would tell you that nobody can keep up with hundreds of high school kids and even if they could they are kids and as a result not very reliable or predictable. I have a good friend who is at the very least close to a couple of UK coaches and 50% of the stuff he tells me doesn't happen. For instance he thought for a year Newman was UK bound until the last couple of weeks of his recruitment. So he was wrong for 1 year and correct for 3 weeks or so. The key factor is getting info from all sides. If I only relied on what my UC sources told me, I would be wrong far more often than I'm comfortable with. To be good at this job you have to be able to cut through the crap coming from both coaches and the players/their "camp". Find the middle ground and you can be right at a rate Vegas wouldn't be comfortable with. Get info from one side, and they will be comping your room while draining your account at the tables...
June 30, 201511 yr Do you understand how the crystal ball works? Apparently, some folks can look into it and see the future.
July 1, 201511 yr My neighbor told me today that he read on another site where Cal is recruiting a 7'1 center from Greece for next year's team. Does any BGPers know anything about that news?

July 2, 201511 yr Greek kid not an option for UK, they talked a little while he played his one year of high school ball in PA. I doubt there's been much contact since he went back to Greece. From what I've read on the kid it's NC State and St.Johns. Gottfried was one of the only coaches to visit him in Greece. There's a lot of interest there.
July 2, 201511 yr SportsGuy may know more, hes been around the international scene and knows a lot of the Euro kids. Mentioned Henzoja a few years ago before any one really talked about him.
July 23, 201511 yr Murrays looked awesome so far in his two games playing for the Canadian National Team at the Pan An Games. Dropped 12 in his international debut against DR, and then followed up with 20 last night versus Argentina. He has shown a little bit of everything these last few games. Most likely Kentuckys best player next season, UK fans have to be excited.

July 23, 201511 yr Don't forget about Skal. Oh, I'm not. Skal is likely a #1 pick candidate but Murray is also going to be very very good. His offensive game is just so versatile. He can attack the rim at will, hit the three at a impressive rate, and his pull up game is great making him a threat at all three levels. Mix that with his IQ, ability to change speeds, and his arsenal of moves and you have a player. Just in two games he has hit a turn around left handed floater off the glass, a spinning and one, a couple nice turn arounds and step backs, and some impressive contested threes. Offensively he has some of everything and knows how to put the ball in the hole.
July 25, 201511 yr Murray just scored 22 points in the 4th quarter and OT to lead Canada past the USA. Also added 6 assists and a huge blocked shot. He is pretty good.
