Louisville's New Field Turf

Featured Replies

This has been a few years in coming and I'm really looking forward to seeing it. Louisville's SID sent out the design earlier today.

Still not perfect, but better than the previous design. I especially like the simple Cardinal head logo and the ditching of the awful sweeping wing logo or whatever that thing is that's at midfield now.

^ The design is now several months old but it's only just being released to the public now that the turf is starting to go in.

I do like the field design, I like the alternating light and dark green on the field. Cardinal head is MUCH better, I might make it a little bigger...that's just me.

When will you have some pix?

Not too long from now I'd think. They started work the day after the spring game and this is a picture from yesterday:

Are they going to put the American whatever in instead of the Big East? Or are they going to leave it blank and put the acc in after the season?

^ I would assume that there will be some sort of "American" branding. Can't imagine not having it would fly with the league.

USF has never had anything out on the field of play except the iconic u, and Bulls script in the endzones. Not a league logo one. The Big East logos have always been on the sidelines and hanging on the walls. Kind of like this...

Bucs won't allow it. I assume, the AAC logos, whatever they end up looking like, will not be allowed either. Louisville should have no problem leaving them off, too.

1. I LOVE the black end zones. Looks tough.

2. I also really like the different greens on the field. Always been a fan of that.

3. Agree with Getslow, I hate the "Cardwing" that was on the old field.

Excited to see the finished product. Vance Bedford tweeted a picture earlier today. All the old turf is out and they are leveling off the dirt today.

The AAC logo will be painted, and then next year an ACC logo will be stitched.

^That's a big sewing machine.

I don't know, I think I'd prefer red over the black. Overall, though, field looks sharp.

I like it but I would make the cardinal head much bigger, I've always been a fan of bigger midfield logos and hate how small UK's is.

My favorite has always been the Eye of the Tiger. Couldn't UofL do something like the "Beak of the Bird"? Or a flock of attacking cardinals or something? :D
