For those who say keep hitting Quentin, that isn't possible. The next time these teams play, the umps are going to tell the managers before the game, throw at a batter and your pitcher is gone. There won't be any opportunity to hit him unless you plan on having multiple pitchers in the clubhouse early every game.

I think they would prefer to have Greinke instead of missing him in the rotation for a couple of months.

Yeah he has hit him 3 times...the last time I think they said was in 2009. So it's not like he's throwing at him every time they meet.

 

Quentin has been hit 42 times or something like that, you set up on top of the plate or step into em, that's gonna happen.

I think they would too. I just think sometimes good teams can really rally around that, especially the way it happened last night. Just look at the 2012 Reds. I'm not saying they will, but for a team with a bunch of new faces and super stars this just gave them something to come together on.

If you think any major league manager is going to have 3 pitchers sitting in his clubhouse in the 6th inning because each of them threw at Quentin, then you are the one being naive.

 

I agree, it isn't over. They will find the right spot. Maybe a starter who is ready to be removed anyway goes to the mound in the 6th or 7th and hits Quentin. Maybe a reliever does it. But I will be shocked if Quentin is hit by a pitch in the first five innings of any game in the next series between these teams.

Based on stories I have read about this post game confrontation, I think the big guy in gray is Clayton Richard, pitcher for the Padres.

I didn't realize Richard was that big (thick wise), but I believe you're right. Padres roster list him at 6'5, 245.

I thought it was Clayton Richard also.
