Yesterdays game was awesome! Love it!

Always nice to win a game over the Cardinals, even better when it plays out like that.

So does anyone know what had BP so fired up after he hit his dinger? Dude was HOT when he got into the dugout. He didn't smile for the rest of the night either.

Cardinals fans don't like Phillips. They boo him every chance they get. Who knows what else gets said to him by the fans there. Phillips plays angry every time he faces the Cardinals, especially in St. Louis with all the booing every time his name is mentioned.

Well his first at bat he was all smiles as the crowd booed him before and after. Second at bat it was the same beforehand, then he hit his homer, ran the bases did his little routine at the plate, and nothing looked out of the ordinary. Then the camera cut to him as he was trotting back the the dugout and he looked pretty mad, and once he was down in the dugout, he took off his helmet and slammed it down on the ground with both hands, started hollering about something that I couldn't make out (he was turning around from the camera shot as he said it), and he marched back towards the clubhouse for a bit. The next several times I saw shots of him throughout the game, he definitely wasn't smiling.

My roommate and I rewound a couple of times to see if we could figure what had happened during the homerun, and we didn't see anything out of the ordinary, so maybe Doc was right and Carpenter got mouthy as Phillips was headed back towards the dugout.

I hope Arroyo is on tonight.

Nothing like a 9 run 9th inning to beat the Cardinals for their home opener. I'm pretty sure I even heard Capernicus41 booing.

That or throw something at the TV. Watched until 7-4 and then went on my first run of the spring. I think my run previous to that one was Game 7 vs the Giants.

If your Mitchell Boggs:isurrender:, WHY ARE YOU MESSING WITH YOUR STANCE AND DELIVERY?! You had a pretty solid year last year and got invited on the USA Team. It would be one thing if he was just getting hit, but when he's got his dumb stance up there and can't throw a freaking strike... Just makes me crazy.

Two tough games for the Cards now. Lynn has been inconsistent all spring and got hit his first start. I'm sure Arroyo will give up 2-3 runs but the Reds will just be licking their chops to get to that bullpen.

I'd feel better with Choo in LF, Robinson in CF. Arroyo hitting 8th.

Try to keep up, a minute behind. This thread change has really thrown you off your game.

Not behind at all. Adding that it was Robinson's 1st career start was huge. No doubt the biggest nugget in this thread so far.

Interesting that Cozart was moved up to the 2 hole, while the speedy Robinson was penciled in at 7th in the order.

What do they do on May 1st if Hamilton is hitting .320 with 25 steals? Throw Choo in left and bring it I say.

Too many other factors.

No chance. What do you do when Ludwick is back?

Depends how Hamilton does. If he's got an OPS of 700 or higher with a steal a game and plays a better CF than Choo you play Ludwig as your 4 th and against leftys. On the catching front Hanigans era was more than a full run better than Meso and he threw out 48% of runners to 27%. I'm sure the SP's like Hanigan doing the catching. I know it's wishful thinking on Billy coming up that soon but if he can hit .275 and walk like he did last year would love to see him.
