April 4, 201313 yr Did Pitino attend Lexington Catholic or was that another brother? I seem to recall one of Rick's sons on the team but they didn't play much.
April 4, 201313 yr Care to explain Norwood Teague hiring Anthony Grant and Shaka Smart??? Are you telling my his last name had nothing to do with this hire?
April 4, 201313 yr Are you telling my his last name had nothing to do with this hire? Did it have something to do with it? I'm sure it was a factor in that his dad is a coaching legend and Richard has been around the game at a high level his whole life. The fact is Teague has made several hires just like this on the back of founding the Villa 7 group and being connected to many of the young coaches across the landscape. It also didn't hurt that Billy D was a strong supporter when contacted for advice on the potential hire. So while his name had a role at some point, he was hired on his own merits. Probably not the answer you were hoping for, but it is the reality of the situation...

April 4, 201313 yr Per Jeff Goodman, Florida International not expected to be able to participate in the 2014 NCAA Tourney due to APR issues. Which is why they fired Thomas. The 2010-11 score was super low. 2011-12 hasn't been released yet but it's not expected to be good enough. Obviously, both are from before Pitino's arrival.
April 4, 201313 yr Kind of surprised with him getting this, but wouldn't be surprised to see success. I think it will definitely take time, but I could see it happening.
