April 1, 201313 yr Did Baylor's coach say ANYTHING congratulatory towards UofL? Maybe ESPN just showed her ranting about the refs... I was just wondering.
April 1, 201313 yr Kentucky vs. Louisville for the Women's National Championship....Who wouldn't want to see that?
April 1, 201313 yr Kentucky vs. Louisville for the Women's National Championship....Who wouldn't want to see that? Seriously... As if there is much doubt now, who could question that the Commonwealth is the king of of College Basketball?
April 1, 201313 yr The contrast between this post game interview and Coach K's was pretty stark. Coach K is one of the reasons I've never hated Duke. I had hard feelings for some years because of '92, but that wasn't anything they did so much as just the devastation of that loss. After '98, I was over it. Coach K was classy back then coming on with Cawood, and he's always been classy that I can remember in the postgame. I've got a tremendous amount of respect for him and the program. I suppose I won't ever be saying that about a Mulkey-coached team....
April 1, 201313 yr The refs weren't the reason Baylor was losing by double digits. She was too worried about the refs than adjusting her team to play more physical. Kinda reminds me of Crean at IU, but he's never been this bad.
April 1, 201313 yr I'm glad Louisville won. BUT, the refs swallowed their whistles on this one. Louisville assaulted Brad Griner (j/k).......she couldn't handle it.
April 1, 201313 yr Did she ever get a foul for shoving the back of the UL players head? Saw the highlight on sports center but they never said one way or the other
April 3, 201313 yr Whitlock podcast: Baylor coach Kim Mulkey on upset loss, Brittney Griner, officiating - College Basketball News | FOX Sports on MSN
April 3, 201313 yr Here's my deal... You don't walk into the press room and talk about nothing at all but officiating... That said. Some of the stuff on Griner underneath was ridiculous. Especially in the first half.... One analyst made reference to it. One player even took a swipe at her that could've been interpreted as a swing and there was no call. Now, I'm all a fan of adjusting to the game you're playing, but it was bad. And they missed some calls in Baylor's favor too... And there were far too many late calls.... Basically what I'm saying is that if she walked in and said "Louisville played great and made it tough to defend them, however, the officials let it get out of control and shouldn't be allowed to advance any further in the tournament in my opinion." I wouldn't have had any problem with a statement like that.
April 3, 201313 yr Louisville was called for 24 fouls to Baylor's 14 fouls. The refs blew the whistle.
