March 21, 201313 yr I'm hearing Wiltjer is transferring to Gonzaga. Anyone else heard that? After two years here and a ring, why would he want to transfer, sit out a year, and miss a possible chance at another ring? He'll play a similar role as e did in '11-12, as a zone busting, outside offensive threat/spark. With better athletes around him, he won't be as defensively challenged; and he may surprise and hit the weights some this off season?
March 21, 201313 yr One problem of this team that doesn't come up is the fact they had no one to practice against. Their competition in practice was a bunch of 6 foot walk-on's. They will improve immensly by having elite players to practice against. Their minutes will be cut big time but Cal always said the Pro scouts look at production per minute. That's why Orton went so high after his freshman year. It would be a huge mistake for any of them to leave except for Noel. Harrow won't be back as Cal has had enough of him, IMO. Hood and Polson won't see the floor again but will be able to come back and be a part of the program because they got the most out of their ability, which isn't very much at this level. Just my thoughts.
March 21, 201313 yr I agree. But I don't know anyone who actually believes what they said last night. As you said, all emotion and once draft workouts are done they will decide. Take it for what it's worth now. I believe that the draft workouts could have something to do with it. We will have to wait and see.

Just my thoughts. Yeah people under value the importance of competition in practice, it has done wonders for a lot of Cal's teams. It has also done wonders for a lot of player growth and development. Jorts, Liggins, Miller, immediately come to mind. Just going hard in practice next season will be enough to make a lot of these guys better.

Hood and Polson are in interesting positions considering they are both graduating this spring. They could transfer to any other Division I school without having to sit a year (like Julius Mays this year). I'm not sure if they would, but it is an option.

Unless they are going to grad. school (anyone know?), I wonder why would they come back to sit on the bench?
March 21, 201313 yr Unless they are going to grad. school (anyone know?), I wonder why would they come back to sit on the bench? Because they are Kentucky kids that want to play for Kentucky. I remember Polson had other offers coming out of HS but turned them down to walk on at UK.
March 21, 201313 yr I'm still trying to figure out where Harrow has to go... I think Cal has a special place for him.
March 21, 201313 yr Polson was a year ahead of my son (who is a sophomore this year). Jared is a Junior. Now, maybe he is finishing his academics in 3 years, but this is only his 3rd year on the team.

March 22, 201313 yr UK Recruiting @WildcatRecruits Told RH, KW, gone at some point in off-season. WCS likely gone. Staff is encouraging to stay to work on fundamentals that still need work UK Recruiting @WildcatRecruits Staff thinks WCS will make a great pro one day, but afraid if he leaves too early he'll slide in rotation and not get needed coaching. ^ Take it for what it's worth.
