I don't know enough about this year but uh, people aren't talking Boyle County football like they used to. People used to be excited about the future. Now people are quiet. Take it how you want it. I am begging for some excitement and someone with more input on this season to chime in.

 

It seems like Boyle Middle has been hit-or-miss over the last few years. I believe they won a conference championship one year, but I also think they recently had one of their weaker teams. Boyle County has been the model of consistency for the better part of two decades. The most difficult thing for a program to do is maintain that level of consistency. I guess we'll have to see if they can maintain it. In my opinion, so long as Larry French is the head coach I don't see them dropping much.

All this Mercer talk cracks me up. When 5A Mercer won their 2A championship a few years back all the talk was how they were going to dominate their new class. Still hasn't happened. I know nothing about Boyle Cty this year but think the Mercer fans should lay low until they actually beat somebody and do something in their proper classification.

No Mercer fan than knew what they were talking about would have dared say they would dominate 5A. Every fanbase has their blind diehard fans and Mercer is no different. That being said I do find it funny that no one knows anything about Boyle County this season but they are still being hailed as "Boyle County". People are in for a rude awakening. Real fast.

I bet you can't wait to see if Boyle County falters. I'm assuming that once you're wrong and that Boyle County beats Mercer County you'll go back to reading and not posting. :lol:

I was just told that Josiah Robbins has yet to play baseball due to an injury sustained during the basketball season. I have no clue how serious it is.

Josiah is out with an injury at this time and will not participate in spring football that begins on Monday. He should be back for the regular football season better than ever. The rest will probably be good for him since he participates in some sport year round.The injury has nothing to do with his ability to run or throw the football.

If the ultimate goal for Mercer Co to finish 2nd in the district from now on as stated by Starks, then that is a losers view to begin with. I guarantee that Boyle Co will not go into any season with the ultimate goal of finishing 2nd. Taylor Co and Marion Co probably have Mercer in their sights so they can finish 3rd in the district.

I have no clue what Mercer's goals are. I imagine it is to win a state championship. Their goals and my expectations for their season are two different things and are not related. Any team not named Lexington Catholic who expects to finish better than 2nd place in the district is lying to themselves.

I'm not sure. Someone correct me if I wrong when I say this but I believe Bill Mason teaches at Mercer County and coaches at Boyle County. If that is true then I'd imagine that even if Coach Perry isn't teaching at Boyle County that he can still coach there. Again, if I am wrong someone please correct me but I was speaking with a former Mercer County football player the other day who said it was weird seeing Coach Mason(Bill) during the day at Mercer County and then him coaching at Boyle County against Mercer County. That being said, I have a hard time believing Coach Perry would remain in the Danville school system and coach at Boyle County AND move his kid over to Boyle County. Seems like that would be a difficult situation to navigate. I have no clue what Coach Perry is doing though other than seeing here on BGP that his kid is at Boyle County.
