This sounds yucky.

When I was a kid, dessert was often half a pear and half a banana; one dolloped with a blob of mayo and the other with a blob of peanut butter.

Pears and Pineapples.

Pineapple, bananas, grapes (Concord preferred but any will do), cantaloupe, blackberries, peaches, apples, blueberries, raspberries, mango....well, I DON'T like honeydew.

Bananas

I love most every fruit, but peaches are my favorite. Shocked they weren't an option.

I'm thinking part of the problem with peaches is that people don't know what they're supposed to taste like anymore. Even the ones you get at Kroger -- which tends to be pretty good with its produce quality -- never ripen properly and tend to taste awful.

My faith was restored in peaches last summer when I joined GT on a trip to Ga/SC for the Peach Jam. I hope I'm invited back, if for no other reason than to load the car with as many baskets as I can fit to bring back.

I guess I should make a list:

Fresh peaches, not from the grocery store

Fresh strawberries, also not from the grocery

Fresh pineapple, but what comes to the store tends to be pretty good

Fresh apples, Granny Smith to be precise. Store ones are OK.

I waver back and forth between blueberries and cherries for my No. 5.

Forgot grapes. The green ones. Ever had them in the freezer?

I should have mentioned Concord grapes, We have a little grapevine in the back yard and every year they're LOADED. I love those things.

Pineapples and Tangerines are at the top of my list.

My buddies wife makes a pineapple pie that is amazing...
