UK Showing Interest in Madison Central's Hawkins

Interesting.

Dominique Hawkins will likely commit on Friday, and it will be to UK. Hearing offer isn't officially on table, but "it is coming."

Shows how stupid I am. Never ever would I think UK would offer him a scholarship. I can see him as a walk on where everyone beats on him in practice. I don't see it. If I continue to read all these posts maybe, just maybe some of everyones sports intelligence will rub off on me. If UK gives him a scholarship, just to make everyone happy, I will never visit this site again and no one will have to deal with my craziness. That will make everyone very happy. BUT if he doesn't, lmao, watch out.

Some truth in that post.

I think that I saw a box of crow being carried into the MCHS kitchen. May be a plate of it being served tomorrow.

I know there's about a .01% chance of this happening, BUT COME TO WKU MR. HAWKINS! (insert face waiving red towel here)

Pieces are starting to fall. Just confirmed Dominique Hawkins will commit to Kentucky tomorrow. Mr. Basketball in the state of Kentucky.

There was actually more like a 50% chance until UK got involved.

Clyde, with him committing doesn't mean he is being offered a scholarship though, correct? He could commit to UK as a walk on, correct? My stance all along is UK will not give him a scholarship.

He is not coming without a scholly.

Theoretically he could, but Hawkins has repeatedly stated he's not going anywhere as a walk-on. While I suppose there is a possibility he could have changed his tune, I'm thinking this is a scholarship.

How many scholarships are teams allowed to have?

How many of UK players this year are on scholarships? Freshman soph and juniors? How many big time recruits coming in next year who obviously will get scholarships? And who does everyone think on this years roster goes pro?

13.

We still love you though wa wa. Most of us have been wrong once or twice on BGP also. You're in good company.

Clizzy answered your number of scholarships question.

The rest is yet to be determined. Popular thought is that Harrow is not going to be on the team next year. Julius Mays graduates & Nerlens is almost certainly gone. Lots of chatter that Cauley-Stein is declaring for the Draft. Most seem to think that Poythress & Goodwin are both returning.

UK currently has 7 freshmen who will be on scholarship. Hawkins would be 8. Very good chance you'll see a scholarship kid from this year walking on next year (i.e. Polson and/or Hood).

In short, scholarships won't be an issue IMO. Whenever scholarships seem to be a potential problem, the problem always seems to work itself out.

So with 13 scholarships.

7 studs coming in will get 7 scholarships.

I am thinking only Nerlens is going pro, frees up 1.

I have 7 coming back who had a scholarship.

Thats 14 total, someone who has a scholarship wont have one next year and I guess it would be Polson.

I assume Sam Malone did not have one,

Todd Katner did not have one

Bryan Long did not have one.

And I guess they have given up on Wiggins so,

Take Polsons away and give it to Hawkins.?
