All I said was Holmes would play with a chip on their shoulder after a loss like this.

 

Never mentoned Newcath and even agreed that getting them would be the worse match up they could get.

What a great game by the kids from both teams!!! Congrats to CovCath!! Both Holmes and CovCath will be tough to beat in the regional tourney. Good luck to both teams!!

Freddie's 3 to tie it at 70 was HUGE. Nick R's shot was just crazy.

 

Big credit to Pauly individually for making life hard on Bolden (stud) and for Team D with helping out on Bolden on the high screens. Bolden had 10 FGA's officially. Palmer was stroking from the top of the key.

 

I saw the two best basketball games of the season in a span of about two weeks at Holmes. Going to be tough to top this one.

Another classic between these two great programs. With all do respect to every other rivalry, this is the best in the ninth region.

Holmes fans have to think positive and remember 2007. Last time CCH beat Holmes for the district championship. Met up again in the region finals and Holmes won in OT.

He was definitely "on fire"!!!!

 

But Bolden had one hell of a shot himself, driving the baseline with three guys "all over him", he goes behind the backboard and emerges on the other side with a "kiss of the glass", ala Dr. J.

Which is why winning tonight was so important.

 

Congrats to Covcath on the win. Disappointed I missed this one. Tough break from Holmes. They are 2 OT's and a halfcourt shot from being undefeated heading in to the region tourney.

I was saying the same thing to the people I was sitting by. Holmes still has a great chance of winning the region.

Tied at 70 on a Fredrick 3.

Holmes drives to the short corner on the left side and gets fouled on the shot with about 9 econds left. Coston makes both to put them up 72-70.

Holmes only had about 3 fouls at this point.

CCH inbounds it and Ruthsatz calls TO in front of the CCH bench. So about 7 seconds left.

Inbounds pass gets deflected by Chames and rolls to the far endline. Picked up by CCH and Chames immediately fouls. CCH ball. About 3 seconds left.

Ruthsatz fouled on the inbounds pass. CCH thinks they have the ball on the sideline with 2 seconds left. Foul happened in the lane so CCH has to take the ball out on the far endline ie go full court.

Throw into Nick Ruthsatz who takes about 2 dribbles and launches.

Good.
