Let me give a shoutout to Jason Reineke, Kenny Hicks, and Michael Pangallo. Really well-called game for such a fast-paced exciting game. Kept control. Didn't overreach on any calls. Nice flow to the game. Made the tough calls when needed. Handled two excited coaches very well.

I agree that it was a fairly decent called game. Hicks is the weaker of the three. The only complaint I had was the crew allowing an injured player to lay on the floor for three possessions before stopping play.

Pretty much my thoughts have been expressed by others. What is interesting to me is that both teams actually executed really well in the final 10 seconds and really both teams did well without a timeout. CovCath looking for the best shot possible and Holmes looking to foul with 3 to give.

Sideout, Chames deflects pass into backcourt and saves it from going out of bounds to a big man for CovCath. Holmes is going to foul and did with 2.9 left. The kicker is in this play to me is that if Holmes doesn't foul the likelihood of Cov Cath getting a good look is nil because a big is going to have to find a outlet under duress with a ticking clock. Cov Cath enters and is fouled with 2 seconds and Holmes got the quick foul meaning CovCath has to go the distance in 2 seconds.

Ruthsatz got some space and caught the ball going up court. In that situation you want to foul on the catch, or at least having the dribbler going anyway but towards the basket. He got some space and to foul at that point is dicey because he can launch at any point.

Shot goes in and the Colonels capture the district title.

I thought CovCath set the tone early, getting to loose balls, making contested shots and hitting the boards. In the second half Holmes with the exception of a few possessions controlled the glass and took good shots. Bolden didn't have to carry them late like he did in the NCC game. Palmer stepped up and knocked down shots.

Going forward the Colonels are going to be a load if they continue to shoot well and Rutsatz is scoring. Going forward Holmes has to get more production or at least consistent production out of Englemon. He can't just disappear from the glass like he did tonight.

Great game, great atmosphere. Is there any doubt that one of the most competitive districts should be played every year at the Fieldhouse?

I agree that it was a fairly decent called game. Hicks is the weaker of the three. The only complaint I had was the crew allowing an injured player to lay on the floor for three possessions before stopping play.

Kid rolled his ankle/twisted his knee. He was not in danger ie head injury. You don't stop a breakout for a non-serious injury like a knee/ankle . Then you don't want to penalize Holmes when they got the rebound and had their own breakout.

I thought they handled it properly. Coach Booher would not have been happy had they stopped the Holmes breakout.

I agree it may sting a little more, but IMO Holmes drawing New Cath could be more of a nightmare for the Bulldogs. At one point, New Cath had a 16 pt lead and relaxed and Holmes took full advantage of that which they should have. What happens if New Cath does not relax, they might have very well beat Holmes by 20 pts. Good luck to all teams, this is gearing up to be a fun Regionals to watch.

New Cath didn't relax in that game, Holmes stepped up their intensity. Did the same happen tonight versus CCH? What was different in the 4th quarter in tonight's game? Was it Holmes playing with more intensity? If yes, it is time to realize you can't play maximum effort one quarter and beat the top teams.

Pretty much my thoughts have been expressed by others. What is interesting to me is that both teams actually executed really well in the final 10 seconds and really both teams did well without a timeout. CovCath looking for the best shot possible and Holmes looking to foul with 3 to give.

Sideout, Chames deflects pass into backcourt and saves it from going out of bounds to a big man for CovCath. Holmes is going to foul and did with 2.9 left. The kicker is in this play to me is that if Holmes doesn't foul the likelihood of Cov Cath getting a good look is nil because a big is going to have to find a outlet under duress with a ticking clock. Cov Cath enters and is fouled with 2 seconds and Holmes got the quick foul meaning CovCath has to go the distance in 2 seconds.

Ruthsatz got some space and caught the ball going up court. In that situation you want to foul on the catch, or at least having the dribbler going anyway but towards the basket. He got some space and to foul at that point is dicey because he can launch at any point.

Shot goes in and the Colonels capture the district title.

I thought CovCath set the tone early, getting to loose balls, making contested shots and hitting the boards. In the second half Holmes with the exception of a few possessions controlled the glass and took good shots. Bolden didn't have to carry them late like he did in the NCC game. Palmer stepped up and knocked down shots.

Going forward the Colonels are going to be a load if they continue to shoot well and Rutsatz is scoring. Going forward Holmes has to get more production or at least consistent production out of Englemon. He can't just disappear from the glass like he did tonight.

Great game, great atmosphere. Is there any doubt that one of the most competitive districts should be played every year at the Fieldhouse?

Stripes couldn't stop the play as CovCath had a man advantage and was driving to the basketball on the first play, Holmes gets a RB and then doesn't stop and they use their advantage to try and score and after they miss CovCath throws down the length of the court for somewhat of a easy basketball. If you want to blame someone, why not the Holmes player who after the CovCath miss on the 1at of three plays instead of holding the ball, dribbles the length of the court!

And give Holmes the home court advantage every year? If you want to play at TMC or NKU then no problem but every year at Holmes? I mean I can understand it from a Holmes fan but really?

So you stop play after the Holmes miss? You do realize that CovCath threw the ball almost the entire length of the court for somewhat of an easy basket.

Why not stop it after the CovCath miss or have the Holmes player just stop? Why do you feel the stripe should have stopped it after the Holmes miss, if you were so worried about the Holmes player?
