That was evident before the season started, my son showed me that one night up there. He said that in order to get it fixed it was an crazy amount of money. The rim doesnt stop shaking for like 15 seconds or more. He shot it and I sat and watched the rim shake for a considerable amount of time.

Well at least we know that basketball remains a top priority for the Highlands administration.

Yeah this is a rule that needs to be changed. Makes no sense to allow this to happen.................

I agree! I did not know that and I let the official know about it! It certainly clearly negated a basket.

IMO that needs to be addressed and should not have gone on for the entire season!

What??????

To fix that all one has to do is take a car battery charger and hook the negative up to the small diagonal bracket on the rim, camoflauge the wire and place the posititve cable in a bucket of water behind the wall, plug it in and when those kids want to jump up there and hang on the rim they will get their moneys worth... and some:scared:

I'm just passing on what was said to my boy. The cost to fix was about as much as replacing. Seems I would call back whoever installed the new backbiards last summer.

Really no excuse for this at all

I have watched 20 + games this year at Highlands and never noticed this. I have not heard a single person mention it either.

If it could have an affect on shots going in or not, it should have been fixed immediately. I think some are blowing this out of proportion. The floor came in like $20,000 under budget and the money saved by the HHS boosters could have been redirected. I am pretty well connected with the program and the funding of these type items, and not once did I hear about this issue.

In a related issue, the NCC dunk fest before the game had the entire support, board and rim rocking. I thought they were going to pull it out of the ceiling. Schulte, Seibert, and friends were putting a hurtin' on basket.

Honestly not sure how you missed it over the course of those 20 games. It has been like that from the very first game played this year whether it was girls, boys, frosh or whomever. Needs to be fixed. You need to get somebody on it. When you are there tonight, watch the entire basket shake when a ball hits the rim and misses. No one is saying that it causes balls to not go in, only that it shakes on every possession.

I've been there twice and it's the first thing I noticed during warm-ups both times. Stinky needs to get on this A-SAP.

If the basket is at rest it is not a problem but what happens on a rebound of a miss you go to shoot the ball and the rim is rattling?

Give me 10 minutes and a roll of Duct tape and I could fix it.

They call that Ky Chrome where I am from frankdracman. Lol

I think I am going to venture up to the school today and check into this "shaking basket" issue.

Once I confirm the basket is fine - I may head down to the 915 to ask the bartender if Q and JOAT have been stopping in before games for a little pre game. I'll let everyone know what I find out.
