But it is right that very small schools have to compete against much larger schools instead of classifying basketball and other sports???? Really?

The vote can go right back to a blind draw with a change of one school. I have a feeling you may not see the seeding very long..............

No disrepect to Newport, Bellevue and Dayton but it just ain't right imo...

No disrespect? Seriously?

The district voted for next years tourney to be seeded so no more draws for the 36th

At least for next year. They vote every year for the next year, I believe.

It bothers me. Iam with others on the argument of the non-seeding and I will be the first to say the team that draws the 36th Dist loser gets a real bunny in the first round,

NewCath's worst game will be better than the others best game ever and they will most likely still get bet by 30...

It's time for the state to step in and require seeding for every district. What is the point of the regular season games if it means nothing towards post season rank? Once again the two best teams arent moving on as a direct result.

Most definitely fair - yes - really! The SOLE PURPOSE of the KHSAA girls' basketball state tournament is to find out which team is the best - it's survival of the fittest. Therefore having the best teams play in early rounds is the only way to accomplish the task. The All A-Classic is the opportunity for smaller schools to have a reduced pool in which to compete. It is not uncommon for A-schools to advance into post season play and be very successful, too.

Blue fonts and all speak the truth 100%. All "A" was created for the smaller schools. Unfortunately, for Npt, Day and Bellevue you have to share the that stage with NewCath.

Does the All "A" seed? or is it also a blind draw?

This is true. Rumor has it that Newport Boys coach got to vote this year and voted to have it seeded. If thats true I wonder what his intentions are with that one. ANybody know anything about he would want that vs a blind draw?

I have to be honest I HATE THE ALL "A" CLASSIC. For this reason. I Understand its purpose and agree with what the original intent was, BUT in todays world the all A seems to be dominated by smaller private schools who usually end up winning their own regional anyway. New Cath has won the 9th region what 5 straight now and last few have been winning the finals by large margins. To me I just dont think its right that a team good enough to compete in the Regional tourney get to compete in the All A classic. Just one's opinion I guess. Im sure many will disagree.

Yeah...Sorta like NewCath gets to have their cake and eat it too...LOL

Maybe they should make NewCath pick one or the other? Either play the All "A" or play the Open Tourney, Pick one, anyone../

I can guarantee you which one they would prefer in the heartbeat. I'll bet you if someone polled the NewCath players, fans and administrators they would all vote the same.

I'll let Lawnboy answer that one:thumb:

Well 49 other states and all of football in Ky disagree with you. If you want to have everybody do the same thing then make football non classified also...............Obviously that is ridiculous............But to make a school of 200 compete with a school of 1400 is ridiculous as well.................Just sayin..............To want seeding and get to beat up on really small schools says a lot of the mentality of many KY. high school sports fans. No other state in this country shares this opinion at all!!!! Whether you put it in blue font or purple font................

I do not want to hi jack this thread but I get sick of the complaining about a blind draw when you also get to be in a district with a group of smaller non competitive schools as well...............You want it both ways.....

I think Clyde said it earlier, NewCath wasnt going to win the Region anyway and he was probably right, that is over with for this yr.

How do you think the other 3 will do year in and year out?

Is this about a participation trophy and two straight 30 pt blowout losses or about a chance to win it all?

I dont get the reasoning as much as you dont get my reasoning...I guess we will agree to disagree

Absolutely nothing to do with this at all..........And yes we will definitely disagree on this. But congrats to the Lady Birds on getting over the NCC hump....................
