Highlands 48 Newport Central Catholic 40

The vote can go right back to a blind draw with a change of one school. I have a feeling you may not see the seeding very long..............

But keep in mind the swing vote is Newport. Their boys program is better than HHS right now. So until HHS improves their program, why wouldn't Newport vote to seed for their boys and the girls will follow suit.

I have to be honest I HATE THE ALL "A" CLASSIC. For this reason. I Understand its purpose and agree with what the original intent was, BUT in todays world the all A seems to be dominated by smaller private schools who usually end up winning their own regional anyway. New Cath has won the 9th region what 5 straight now and last few have been winning the finals by large margins. To me I just dont think its right that a team good enough to compete in the Regional tourney get to compete in the All A classic. Just one's opinion I guess. Im sure many will disagree.

where were you when i needed you????

You mean that they have stocked their program with kids that did not see Newport until they came to the high school. As soon as Rod Snapp leaves for a better situation the program will take a meteoric fall and you can take that to the bank.

Sooooooo.... With Newport apparently on board next yr to seed (most probably because they are going to be very good in boys and not to shabby in girls), with that said is it a year to year vote or once you commit and agree to seed its a lifetime done deal?

If not a done deal, what would keep Npt from going back to their old stance and not voting to seed say for the next 10 yrs?

Maybe Highlands or NewCath will not vote in favor of seeding next yr and leave Npt holding the bag...

What comes around goes around...Just sayin

It is a year to year vote. They will discuss this next year at the draw and if 3 of the 5 decide to have a draw then that is what will happen in 2015. Not sure who ultimately makes the decisions for each school to be honest.

I highly doubt this Sweep. They will lose most of their talent with Jaquon Short (best player and leading scorer at 16,5 ppg), Cody Pearson (strong player around the basket, recently has had some really nice scoring games avg 10.5 ppg), Marquis Commodore (8 PPG). Arroyal Wright "Transfer" (6 PPG). So they lose roughly 70% of their offense.

The only returning player they will have with legit Varsity experience is the younger Short who averages 11 ppg and Turner who only avgs 3 pts a game as a Junior.

If it isnt a good offseason for Snapp they may want to go back to the Blind draw next season.

Maybe Highlands votes blind draw next year.

Spite has nothing to do with it.....You do what is best for YOUR school..........You do not vote based on what people from Highlands like.

Truth hurts, if you dont like it change it or get out.

REALLY?????? How about the state should do away with football classes too..........Then you would not be able to hang your hat on your 6 classes and water downed state championships. Same arguement you use for basketball should be good for football right????????

Normally the principals and AD's discuss this and make a decision on what is best for their school.......Bellevue tipped the vote for seeding in baseball and Newport tipped it in basketball...............

They have the all A...that is for the small schools. You need to send the best teams to the region so you can send the best teams down state. Now Highlands has water downed state championships in football because they have classes they arent water downed only one team in the state better than Highlands the last 3yrs and thats Trinity...Highlands was the best team in the state 07-09 so not sure about your argument there. I went to a small school and never had a chance to play in the region and i dont have a problem with it. I sure didnt want to back into the region. Sorry useless but you are dead wrong on this one!

I have no problem with your argument. But I am a firm believer in classifying all sports. At least I am consistent and do not pick and choose what sports I want to classify and which ones I do not.

Exactly Highlands should do what is best for THEM and to hell with everyone else right?

If everything worked out in favor of Highlands considering all scenarios boys and girls and they had a chance to send a message, then spite would work just fine...

And FWIW, someone like the KHSAA does not vote or care what BGP posters think either...just sayin...

I am not pick and choosing. I could care less whether they go to classes or not but when the rest of your region is seeding and your not it just doesnt make sense thats all. It could result in a team.. depending on the draw.. walk to the finals of the regional tournament when you dont send the two best teams thats all. I dont blame Newport, Dayton, and Bellevue for voting not to seed hell i would to.
