jbwill2 Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 ... Trinity wins another state basketball title this year, making it two in a row? That would mean Trinity will have won the last four "big event" championships in the last two years (2 basketball titles and 2 Class 6A football titles). Would that spell the end for Kentucky's one-class basketball tournament?
D-Rob Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 I think there is more people for the one class than those who want it broken up. Kentucky is the last real basketball state tournament around, I don't see it changing regardless.

Jumper_Dad Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Best and purest state tourney in the country IMO...would not change. BTW, How big is Shelby Valley?
spindoc Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Sweet 16 is the KHSAA cash cow. Never gonna change.
tcjkbt Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 This is an intriguing question. Let's all hope Trinity does indeed win, and then see what happens.
jbwill2 Posted February 9, 2013 Author Posted February 9, 2013 If not, then how many would Trinity have to win before it changes, because it is looking like Trinity could dominate basketball like they have been dominating football.
spindoc Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 No way Trinity has a several year run in that region. Not to mention, there are several that can beat them if they win the 7th this year.
NEERFAN Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 It's been 22 years since the last repeat. It won't be easy for Trinity and if they can do it, props.
Bengal Maniac Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Trinity is in the toughest region in the state IMO. They may not even make it. It's been a long time since any program has been dominate in basketball like Trinity and Highlands are in football. As Spindoc said earlier KHSAA will not mess with their "Cash Cow" any tme in the foreseeable future.
mexitucky Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 At worst I see a compromise and there are regular season All A this setups for other classes. Ask any Indiana high school fan. It just isn't the same.
