How does the "carry" rule actually read................

It's covered under "illegal dribble."

A dribbler carries/palms the ball by allowing it come to a rest in one or both hands.

Can the ball come to a rest if your hand is on top of the ball?

Technically, yes.

Technically, yes.

He does what looks like a carry, but does the ball bounce after the carry before the shot? It looks like the view is obstructed on the video. If the ball doesn't dribble one last time after the appeared carry and he just goes up with the shot then there is no carry call.

Obvious carry.

Good point, but then wouldn't it be a travel call since he got up off of the floor with possession of the ball?

I had the ball bouncing still so no travel. T7 is correct that had it not bounced and he then came up to this feet it would have been a travel.

It think when he goes down he stops dribbling and slides on his butt... Then comes out of it with a carry... I see a travel (slide) and a carry and I believe he would have gone out bounds but he ran out of time. Basically, totalliy out of control.

A slide is not a travel.

Looks like a carry to me.

A slide is not a travel.

During slide he stops dribble and then gets up. I say travel.

He's still dribbling as he rises IMO.

Like I said earlier, I wish I could see it from the opposite side. If he grabs the ball while he's on the floor with both hands and essentially stopped his dribble, then he gets up to let the shot fly. Again, it's hard to see when/if the dribble is continued. After the carry of course, haha.

Maybe the next Curly Neal. Since the refs don't make a call, count the basket. Is it likely the refs missed a chance to make a call? I think yes.
