February 4, 201313 yr National Anthem by Alicia Keys - For the most part liked it. Had no problem with the pacing of it, as it felt much more "respectful". As others have stated, I too don't like the singers that go off and try to make the song "their own". Keys for the most part, I felt, kept true to the song (with maybe a small exception at the end). Beyonce at halftime - while I'm not going to argue whether it was more of a singing or dancing performance, I thought it was kind of funny the amount of non-singing dialogue that she had with the crowd. To me that was her attempt to let everyone know she was not lip-syncing everything else. Commercials - for the most part, pretty underwhelming compared to years past. I did like the Ram Truck with Paul Harvey, the Audi Prom, the M&M Meatloaf impersonation, and the Tide Montana stain commercials. Best part of the blackout - The fact that we didn't have to listen to Jim Nantz for all 30 minutes of it.

February 4, 201313 yr The best part of the Super Bowl for me was the fact that I had a flight yesterday that arrived at CVG around 4pm or so. By the time I had grabbed some food for the evening and got home, I had totally missed ALL of the pregame show except the two patriotic songs! I did not feel slighted in the least!

February 5, 201313 yr The one commercial about identity theft and the crystal ball. The one they played 4 times got on my nerves real fast.

February 5, 201313 yr Author Old-timer. What year was that? 84? I was in college and hated the drums then. If he did that same version a capella it would have been better.
February 5, 201313 yr Fast and Furious 6. Leon Sandcastle. That's about it. I hear the Budweiser/Clydesdale commercial was cool. I was peeing and didn't feel like rewinding. 99.9% of the commercials sucked IMO. Glad to hear this. I didn't see one second off the game, hell I didn't know who won till driving in to work this morning.
