January 22, 201313 yr Quit crying about it and don't blame the President , blame your insurance carrier . Sounds like you need to find a different insurance company . Someone's gotta pay for it. You can bet your life that the insurance companies and that's ALL of them aren't going to sacrifice their bottom line so Barry can give the lazy "free" healthcare. Ain't nothing free for everyone. Old Barry, your president of the United Socialists States of America.
January 23, 201313 yr Let me ask this: if the cost of your healthcare through your employer is a huge issue to you, why do you not seek either another job or a lower cost healthcare plan? My daughter just got a new job. At her new place of employment they offer different plans based upon the deductible you choose. She chose a $3200 deductible, because all her routine exams are no cost under the plan. She pays $6.88 per pay period. My job offers varying price points based on deductibles and network choice. The cost per pay period ranges from $23 to $75. Obviously employers are able to at least consider such options. Why are you not demanding your employer evaluate their options to offer to you. Or seek employment based upon healthcare plans? ***Disclaimer: "You" is used in a general sense. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Forum Runner
January 23, 201313 yr When policy directly affects price, and makes the cost go up, after you were told by the man, and Congress, who shoved it down our throats, that it wouldn't, your first beef should be with those that lied. Period.
January 23, 201313 yr Well, millions will have health insurance that couldn't before. You know have the choice (if the KY ever gets it set up) to choose a more affordable option. Preventative care is now free for all, not just those who can afford insurance. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Forum Runner Why are mammograms still $400 a year. Its preventative. And 2 per year is $800. The highlighted would appear to have some holes in it. Especially for woman-specific procedures.
January 23, 201313 yr Your healthcare availability should not determine your job, RM. We live in America. I hope you were being semi facetious. How about hold people accountable. Especially Congress. Just once.
January 23, 201313 yr I was really asking a serious question. We were told something, did it happen? It's pretty simple.
January 23, 201313 yr How much of it was actual school cost? Tuition/books Last year, about $32K was tuition and books for out-of-state; this year, in-state, about $22K for tuition and books, but much higher living expenses.

Or how about because there is now really no incentive to offer top notch health insurance because we are bound and destined for a single payer system?

I've had 2 separate jobs since college. Both making $50-$55k a year. Both jobs, every year the cost of healthcare went up and coverages/deductibles got worse. Wow, your daughter pays pennies for insurance. She's also got an INSANE deductible. That's where the American public gets hit. With that deductible she doesn't have insurance in reality unless there's a catastrophic illness/injury. Heck, I pay $20 a pay period for my wife and I to "have insurance." We each have a $3k deductible, and only reason we have to pay so little is because we both participate in the wellness surveys, wellness plan (scoring well in BMI, BP, Blood sugar, cholesterol, etc.), and have at least 48 gym visits every 30 months. Sure there is one other plan available which is the elite plan, which is a 1500 ded, and that'll cost Substantially more. At one time both jobs had fantastic insurance. But with obamacare, the government is sticking their hands in all of the working people's pockets to give "free" healthcare to the lazy. It's easy to say, "go find a job with better insurance",but really that's uneducated or completely skewed view of the world. Is there an abundance of decently paying jobs that provide great healthcare that I'm not aware of? When you see able bodied people hanging out in government housing, with big screen tvs, playing on iPhones and then buying groceries with foodstamps cause they get more $ from welfare than getting a job. So why would they get a job? And they're raising their kids with the same mindset to work the system. Sorry, but I don't think it's fair for me to work for the things I have while the pres takes more and more of my hard earned money to give to the lazy so they have "free" healthcare. Where the hell is my free healthcare? There's no break for hard workers. I guess I'm insensitive, but if you're too lazy to work for your own insurance, well then Darwin wins!

But for others it's goin to go up. You will get slightly better coverage. It really hope it works out but I have huge doubts. Most within the insurance industry expect a big increase in 2015 since health insurance companies aren't sure what's going to happen next year. There is very very little incentive for healthy individuals to carry insurance. Oct. 1st is right around the corner and we still don't have all the info we need. January 23, 201313 yr You weren't alive when Nixon was president then ? Eisenhower was president when I was born. I fully considered Nixon before I made my statement and I still believe it.

January 23, 201313 yr If Barry has such a good plan, why are all of the companies trying to opt out and get rid of workers and hours for workers. If Barry had such an honest plan for CSPAN to be able to film, why was CAPAN not allowed in the hearings. Easy answer, it is shady and costly. Barry is just like other Presidents, a liar who could care less about the poor, middle class, and rich, heck he dont care about anyone other than himself and his donors who will take care of him after he is finally done as President unless he over turns the 22nd Amendment.

January 23, 201313 yr Hours are most definetly getting cut for workers in many smaller organizations. The need for many people to work two jobs is going to continue to increase. Unfortunate but it is what it is.
