January 22, 201313 yr Well, millions will have health insurance that couldn't before. You know have the choice (if the KY ever gets it set up) to choose a more affordable option. Preventative care is now free for all, not just those who can afford insurance. And those of us that work for a living are the one's paying for it. :ohbrother:

January 22, 201313 yr BGH, show some respect. Its President Obama. Not Barry. Was this typed in a sarcastic font, or not?
January 22, 201313 yr For one year? Yup. Tuition, living expenses/rent, books. It's absurd how much any graduate program costs in this day and age.

January 22, 201313 yr With all due respect I don't think it's possible to disagree with you more. Leadership doesn't mean doing everything in your power to alienate those who disagree with you and yet that's what I feel Obama is doing. He preaches bipartisanship and yet continues to make proposal after proposal that he know the opposition will vehemently oppose, that has little chance of passage and serves no purpose other then to enhance the class warfare that he has embraced and to further fracture his opponents. His recent gun speech with the human shield is a perfect example. I truly believe that Obama is the most divisive president in my lifetime. You weren't alive when Nixon was president then ?
January 22, 201313 yr My premiums have more than doubled. My take home pay will be reduced by close to $2,000 for the year. President Obama is a pathological liar.

Quit crying about it and don't blame the President , blame your insurance carrier . Sounds like you need to find a different insurance company .
January 22, 201313 yr Quit crying about it and don't blame the President , blame your insurance carrier . Sounds like you need to find a different insurance company . Nope. The President swore that costs wouldn't go up, and that taxes wouldn't increase unless you were upper class. Both of mine have gone up. It's one of those things where if you repeat a lie enough, you start believing it to be true.
January 22, 201313 yr I paid off my first year of law school at around 7% interest. If I were to take out loans from the private sector, or from the banks, I guarantee it would be well over what I paid through the department of education. Glad you paid them off and kudos to you for graduating. However, most students and graduates are not in your shoes. There are simply not enough jobs for students graduating, they can't afford to pay their loans back, and that will eventually mean all that debt will eventually hit us.....hard. Its another bubble that will soon burst. Interest rates should be what the market dictates, not an artificial number set by the government. Interest rates have more power than people realize and when they are artificial and not sound, it causes chaos in the long run and creates bubbles. Not to mention, the dramatic rise in tuition can be creditedto the government subsidizing college. It's not a good business to be in. Education is important for the well-being of our country but our current solution is more of a problem and hurting the young.
January 22, 201313 yr Serious question. If I remember correctly the claim made when the POTUS was selling his plan was a decrease of $2500 in premiums on average. Is there anything to support that has happened? Is that even what he said or am I misremembering.
