Yes. Bryan Station is for real.

Saw a tweet saying Station had beat Lafayette, Scott County and Henry Clay during the last 11 days. They are on a nice run.

No. 2 behind Madison Cemtral at this point. Larry Morton has burst back onto the scene with a vengeance and had a great season.

Thought this one would be close.

Henry Clay has the most talent in the region, but lacks in other areas. Bryan Station is the tougher of the two teams. They showed that last year in the district tournament.

I think it is mental more than anything else. They don't bring it for a full 32 minutes. They need better motors.

By the way, last night's game made it impossible for Henry Clay to win the district race OUTRIGHT. Bryan Station claims the regular season title and the coveted No. 1 seed (to play Sayre) with a victory at Scott County. Scott County also contols its own destiny, if they beat Bryan Station and Henry Clay they will be the top seed. Henry Clay can only be the No. 1 seed if Scott County beats Bryan Station and they beat Scott County, then it would be a 3-way tie at the top determined by a tiebreaker. No idea what the tiebreaker is in a 3-way. Assume a "draw the biggest straw / coin flip" would be the way to break the tie. No matter what, one of the top teams in the state will be going home early out of the 42nd District.

FYI, my points above all assume each team beats Sayre. And, that is a pretty certain assumption.

Bryan Station has some very versatile players who can interchange inside or outside.

 

In fact, in the last 20 seconds of the game, Bryan Station brought their center Tyler Smith out away from the basket, and he took the Henry Clay center off the dribble to the basket for the game winner. It was a nice isolation and a good coaching move by Coach Allen. Bryan Station has good match ups versus the talented Henry Clay team.

 

I can't wait to see the rematch! I am assuming there will be one. These two teams are very familar with each other and really go at it. Fun to watch!

How are they overrated when Scott County and Bryan Station have proven to be quality teams?

 

I think overrated is the wrong word. They are easily one of the top teams in the state. Easily. You won't find 5 tougher districts in this entire state.
