Holmes 60 Scott 59

Congrats to Holmes on another win, and being undefeated!

Nice game, Scott! Much to be proud of. You have a solid team. You have proven twice, in 2 very close contests, that you can run with the Dogs!

Looking through the update thread its pretty clear that Holmes fan(s) complained significantly more about the officials...

Sportsfan pointed out they were bad on both sides. And I as others stated the non goaltending call in the 2nd quarter was wrong

Not one person has said that the refs won or lost the game..

So 2 points wouldn't have made a difference??ha

Yeah obviously but there are more than 1 play in a game...

It is obvious you would rather instigate an argument than see the message. I believe that Scott had very little chance to win the first game. It took Holmes to quit playing, like they did against Holy Cross, and a great performance by the Eagles to even make that game close. However, Holmes won the first quarter and the last 30 seconds. Scott DOMINATED the rest of the game. As bad as Bolden played, by being the great player he is, it did free up others to get theirs. This was a horribly officiated game on both sides. The "T" was not on Booher but an assistant coach who has a "potty" mouth and the goal tending call was so obvious but these bad officials were out of position. Then to call a reach with 3.2 seconds after Englemon climbed Jackson's back was terrible. It should of been a no call and let the players determine the outcome and not some zebra who is a never-was as a ref!!

Best of Luck to the Bulldogs and the Eagles. They could meet for a 3rd time at Rupp. Scott has the tougher road but if Holmes doesn't learn to play for 4 quarters they will be in the same boat as the Holmes team that got crushed my Newport in Regional Final because they didn't play 4 quarters either.

If you want to appreciate life as an official this thread is a great example.

Lots of different opinions on how obviously good or bad the goaltending call was.

I appreciate good officials. But 2 of the 3 guys are not ranked in the Top 30 in the BBA. 1 of the 3 left the 9th Region because he could not get any games.

Game was was to fast for two of the three.

Irrelevant to my post. If Tim O'Hara was calling the game one side was going to say how awful his goaltending/non-goaltending call was because it was "obvious."

Goaltending? I can't really say. Perhaps it was, but it sure was a purty move by Chames. I don't think anyone in the house could deny that.

Said this would occur.....always the refs....

I started reading this thread to hear about the game and as usual most of the comments are directed at the officials. I am not a fan of either team, and does anyone out realize how frustrating it gets always reading about officials dictating the game. It amazes me how many really good officials ATTEND games, but how very few actually WORK the games according to a lot of people on this blog.
