The creativity circulating around this is hilarious. If these people really applied themselves, we wouldn't have to watch anymore reality TV. Sitcoms would make a comeback.

Is the Lennay twitter account that has gave updates the last couple of days the same one that Manti was supposed to have had a relationship? Or is it a different account with the same name? I'm confused as I hardly ever get on twitter. I have a hard time believing it is the same person after the dig on Te'O about the Bama game, I wouldn't think it would be someone close to him (who may have been in on the whole thing with Manti) talking trash like that. If the assumption is it was someone he was connected with who ran the fake account.

CNN just showed an interview with the reporter from the South Bend reporter who wrote about how Te'o met his girlfriend at a football game and all. He had a recording of Te'o's father who clearly talks about Manti meeting her. The reporter would not allow the tape to be broadcasted, but he allowed the CCN guy to listen, and he too said Manti's father mentions about how the two met.

Things just continue to unravel... If this continues, I think he has to admit it was a hoax because the longer he sticks with his story that he was duped he continued to sink deeper and deeper into the pile of quicksand he is standing on. Coincidentally, his draft stock might of already gone under.

It's possible Manti lied to his parents.

 

Te'o has, at the very least, lied about this for a period of time. At worst he knew about it for the entire time.

Eh, I could see that. He tells his parents one thing and they tell the media that but Te'o forgets what he said about where they met and thus tells the media something different. Regardless, Te'o needs to come and apologize for something because he is obviously lieing about several things concerning this entire fiasco. Whether or not he was truly duped is still in question. I could see where he might not have felt comfortable about telling people that he had a girlfriend that he had never met except on the internet and thus this was perpetuated into what it is now. Still lies are lies and he needs to come out and clear everything up as much as he can.

Te'o may very well be gay but I'm not buying he did this to cover that up. Doesn't make sense. If you're going to make up a girlfriend to cover up being gay why make it a national story by killing her off?

I just read an article pointing out this. According to ND's AD, Te'o received a call on December 6th from "Lennay" claiming she's not really dead. At this point he must know it's a hoax (if he's even telling the truth anyways).
