Big time mistake on refs tonight after calling a buzzer-beating 3 pointer good, only to overturn it after watching the replay.

 

Problem is that the replay was inconclusive to over-turn even though you could clearly tell that the ball was out of his hand with 0.01 left on the clock.

 

 

Even with replay officials are still missing easy calls IMO.

Just saw the replay on this one and I fail to see how the officials overturn the made basket. Clearly out of his hand at .1 and when the clock hits 0.0 the ball was a foot away. I know they won't but the league should overturn the overturn and award Colorado the win.

It was very conclusive that the ball left his hand on time. I'm not sure how they miss this one. Travesty for Colorado.

From what I saw of the game, it seemed like Arizona was the beneficiary of several key (and inaccurate) calls in the final five minutes.

Refs missed this one.

Arizona also got the benifit of the doubt in their home win over Florida. They went into an intense full court press in the final minute of play and IMO got away with some pushing and hacking fouls while the refs swallowed their whistles, and they pulled out a one point win. The officials allowed the Arizona crowd to dictate how they called the final seconds of that game, and the Gators received no favors. The Wildcats have won several close games. I have a feeling their luck will run out early in the NCAA tourney.

What a joke. Those refs should be suspended for a couple weeks. That could be the difference in Colorado making or not making the NCAA tournament.

I'd be curious to see what the officials were looking at.

Actually they initially called it good. They told both coaches it counted and they were going to review to make sure.

I know this. The official responsible for the good/no good call is always the one that is opposite the table. He never signaled that it beat the clock. He raise his hand when the shooter went up with the shot to indicate that it was a 3 attempt and then he raised his second hand to indicate the shot went in. That does not tell us he thought the shot beat the clock. He never gave any signal to say "count it."

I think you're correct re: the inset clock being behind. I have seen an image of the actual clock showing the ball off the fingers (BARELY) though.
