December 31, 201213 yr I'll be tickled to no end if they can make the Sweet 16 or Elite 8. The days of winning the tournament several years in a row like UCLA did in the 1960's is over. This is a young, inexperienced team. Last year's team had Miller, Jones, and Lamb to right the ship when things got tough. This year's team doesn't have that kind of veteran players. Even the Wall-Cousins-Bledsoe team had Patterson, Stevenson, and Miller around to give leadership. I'm pleased with the progress this team has made. Don't get spoiled by recent success. Its never easy to win a title. Just remember how bad it was before Cal got here. These are good times for UK basketball. I agree, but every team Cal will have no from the time he leaves will be somewhat inexperienced. I don't think youth can be used as an excuse, but with that said this was the first game I have watched where all the players have appeared to play their roles and show some chemistry. Maybe it has been the turned up practices or who they were playing. I think next year really depends on who stays and who goes, especially at the forward positions. They could be absolutely loaded at guard next year, but lack some depth inside if either WCS or Noel leave. I think 10% of the 18% lives in the BG area.

January 1, 201313 yr I liked how Cal took the blame for the loss. He's good. He's real good. I'm glad he is at UK so I can see more than just another basketball coach. I really like that man and if he wasn't at UK I'd never see the whole Coach Cal. I like it too. Bottom line is he is a recruit away this year, he put a lot of chips on Harrow and its still pending 1/1/13.

Players have no understanding of what UK basketball is about, another loss like this and UK needs to begin looking for a new coach, absolutely no excuse for this, none. I'll 2nd what was posted earlier in this thread. Pitino's "BEST" ever UL squad beats Cal's "WORST" ever UK squad by "3" ? At "HOME" ? I'm not going to lose any sleep over that LOL !!!
