For some reason the travel call is a difficult call for some officials. It shoudn't be if you actually understand the rule and know how to watch a pivot foot.

 

Note: There aren't as many missed travels as fans think but it does happen. Saw it happen 3 times with one official this week. Unfortunate.

Holmes had 2 guys foul out tonight and HC 1.

 

Up until the final mins when HC HAD TO foul, Holmes had more fouls called on them. Not sure HC fans can complain about the officiating. If you weren't there you really shouldn't comment.

 

HC only had 4 more fouls called on them (28 to Holmes 24).

 

Also, there were ALOT of walks called on BOTH teams...hence the high turnover nnumber.amount. w

 

Listened to the game and the play by play guys were talking about awful calls for both teams as well as the various walk calls. Usually you don't hear that on the HC radio, atleast not as much when 10th region officials are involved. A good game is when you don't notice the officails, tonight it seemed like the officials wanted to be noticed.

Sounds like a fun game to watch.

 

Harrison Co will be a tough out in the tournament. Great FT % for them as well.

Pouncy was one of the officials which kind of surprised me since he has coached or coached against a lot of these kids on AAU circuit.

My point was that Holmes wins this game with 9th or 10th officials. If they were bad, they were consistently bad and it wasn't biased toward one team or the other.

 

I will admit it was hard for either team to get in a rhythm because of all the whistles and fouls. As many as they made, though, they also missed some stuff too or let it slide.

Black official was Ricky Tyler and the shorter white official was ??? Pompilio. Not sure of his first name but they called him "roach" when he was younger.

I wasn't there but it sounds like it was a hard fought game with both teams pressing, which generally leads to a lot of turnovers and fouls. Holmes is a pressing team, generally. Teams that press smetimes stuggle with teams that press. Reading the threads it looks like both the 9th and 10th are pretty deep and neither are better than the other. Another 9th/10th battle tonight with the 'dogs taking on the Eagles. No one is going undefeated in the 9th and you really never know when NCC or Holmes will get their loss(es) besides when they play each other. It may not be who anyone thinks. There are really good teams but no dominating team. It makes it fun.

When I saw in the game update thread "must be 15 walks, rough night for the refs", I was going to say that I bet Ricky Tyler was calling the game. He calls a lot of walks and "palming". And he is right most of the time, even though most don't like the call.
