Pioneers travel to Covington tomorrow night to take on the Dogs.

Holmes comes in with a perfect 9-0 record.

Simon Kenton comes in 5-3 after a 21 point win over Rowan Co in their most recent game.

Who wins this 8th/9th region battle? Also, will SK be healthy? I know Swanson is out, as well as Ayers.

Not sure how SK stays with Holmes. SK brand of basketball is to play relentless defense and go full throttle from the opening tip to the final buzzer, but with the injuries they have sustained they are going to be hard pressed to stay with the super athletic Bulldogs. I see a close game until the middle of the 3rd quarter when Holmes pulls away and wins by 15.

Swanson is back, and Barnes may play. I'd say Holmes by 10+

I think SK will keep it close for a while but in the end Holmes depth, quickness, and overall speed will wear the Neers down and cause them to get in foul trouble which helps Holmes pull away.

The question is who guards James Bolden? Nobody has been able to this season and he is the key to the Holmes offense. If he has a big night, Holmes wins by 10+.

Holmes will score 70+ and win by 14 or so.

Bulldogs 78

SK. 64

Is this a 7pm start? I'll be heading down to Evans tomorrow.

If Swanson is healthy, he is one of the best on the ball defenders around. Just a pest. I'd imagine he would guard Bolden.

Not sure Swanson is even quick enough to check Bolden. His crossover and first step are lethal. Should be a good matchup though. I'm a big Swanson fan. Hoping to see mom and pops at the game tonight.

Holmes 70-60.

Two good coaches. Holmes in a close one.

I think SK can win this one. They return players from injury and should be at the point where the football players are now in basketball shape. If Holmes overlooks them, they could be in for a surprise. I'll take the Pioneers by 4.

I can almost guarantee Holmes doesn't overlook them. Several of the players feel disrespected that they're 9-0 and aren't receiving more attention not only locally but statewide.
