February 8, 201313 yr UK getting all these great recruits to junior day is one thing, holding off all the big boys for them is another. Hope we can land them.
February 8, 201313 yr J.Rowland @RowlandRIVALS Not exaggerating; not only will this junior day be biggest in #UK history. One of the biggest in all college football, anywhere, this year. They are hosting 8 four stars in the 2014 class this weekend these guys are on fire!
February 8, 201313 yr They offered but it wasn't a commitable offer in that if he wanted to commit on the spot they would not have taken it. It is part of the process on recruiting backup options. If they lost Clark two days ago for example, there is little chance to make up that ground with Timmons in a short period of time. So the offer is extended, but not to the point of being able to verbal on the players schedule. Happens everywhere with guys on the second tier of a recruiting board. And after talking with several more OSU insiders I am 100% this was the case. Very good get for UK, but to say they "beat out" Ohio State isn't accurate... The best part about all this "was it or was it not a commitable offer" is that in a couple or years everyone will know if OSU should regret not getting Timmons signature on the offer!!
February 8, 201313 yr The best part about all this "was it or was it not a commitable offer" is that in a couple or years everyone will know if OSU should regret not getting Timmons signature on the offer!! Maybe so, but a kid like Timmons isn't going to make or break OSU either way. I'm sure a lot of teams in the SEC and cross the country wish they would have recruited Randall Cobb, but to the big boys he's not going to kill them if he doesn't play for them. At Kentucky though, it's a different story. We've saw how the offense has looked the last couple of years after losing Cobb, there was an obvious void there. So as a player no matter how talented isn't going to make or break the big boys, to UK the difference in having and not having a guy like that is astronomical.
February 8, 201313 yr 2nd best recruiting class in the country well manage to get bye. Good luck to Ryan.
February 8, 201313 yr Author J. Rowland just tweeted that Tevin Lawson is indeed visiting Kentucky this weekend
February 10, 201313 yr Drew Barker was quoted as saying UK has done a "complete 180" in his mind and that he can see himself playing at UK.
February 10, 201313 yr Drew Barker was quoted as saying UK has done a "complete 180" in his mind and that he can see himself playing at UK. But would he start over Towles?
February 10, 201313 yr But would he start over Towles? I don't think he will pick a school based on his ability to start as a frosh. If he redshirts PT would be SR when he is in his RS FR season.
February 10, 201313 yr Let me throw some advice out there. Saying you could see yourself playing there and that UK has completely change his perception is nice but it doesn't mean anything other than UK is in the game now. Nothing more. He will visit Knoxville next weekend.

He will visit Knoxville next weekend. If he chooses UT he should seek counseling. I see no reason to go there over either in state school and I'm certain he'll have better offers than all 3.
February 10, 201313 yr There is a website dedicated to following Derek Kief's recruiting and it appears he had a good time. Posted an air raid picture with Drew Barker. http://www.derekkief.com/2013/02/teaser-must-see-pic-of-best-ky-qb-drew.html?m=1
February 10, 201313 yr Better than not being in the game at all though. Full credit to Coach Brown and Coach Stoops for getting back in.
