Here is what kills me, people didn't want Brent Pease and I'm dang glad he didn't get hired, but some of the same people who didn't want Pease (on other sites) are excited about Stoops' hire? Really? Pease, just waxed FSU and their defense.

 

Another thing, he won't ever have the talent here that he had on the field the other night against Florida. The only way to have that kind of talent would have had to hire a big name hire. And they didn't. Same stuff.

1) I'm probably not going to actually burn my stuff. I was a Tubby fan. Still am. That tells you all you need to know about me.

 

2) that saying is as old as the day is long, you can do better than that.

I have been very critical in the past on who UK has decided to coach the football program. However overall even though I still think they should have done whatever they could to get Petrino, I am not to upset with this hire. This is actually the kind of hire I was wanting them to make when Brooks retired. I was wanting a hot up and coming head coach from a smaller school, or a top assistant from a BCS school. So we did go out and get that, and hopefully he puts a great staff around him who can recruit but also coach up the players too. So I am interested to see how this works, and won't be completely down on this hire like I was when they hired Joker. Hopefully after three years he is getting offers for bigger schools, because that means he is doing a good job here.

I like the hire, I think he proved he can be an effective defensive coach, but we will have to see who he brings. Plus, he should be able to recruit some down south. I think it is unreasonable to predict his record already, just sayin'.

Here is another thing, Jimbo Fischer has always seemed to me as a butt. I don't know if its how he weaseld his way in and got Bowden out before he was ready or if its just his overall demeanor?

 

Regardless, all you are hearing is that Stoops contacted UK (which, if you do the timeline, he jumped all over it before other jobs came open in the last week more than likely). Why didn't he wait for some of these other jobs? He was ready to get out. Also, the "OC" is wanting to leave FSU for the same title at UK? (as you said, that was just a title and right you are).

 

Sounds to me like they were ready to move on from Jimbo.
