November 8, 201213 yr I'm still shell shocked. Not so much about the election but about how much America has changed in the past 10 years or so. It's happened right under my nose and I didn't realize it.
November 8, 201213 yr Yea, voters have never reelected an incumbent against a middling and uncertain challenger and the losing side never adopted apocalyptic rhetoric about the impending doom of America. It's a new epoch.

If you get all of your information from Fox, Heritage, etc.; you're living in a little coccoon and the world is passing you by. How many times did the Newt Gingriches and the Dick Morrisses and the Karl Roves of the world make crazy predictions without substantive research this time around.

Axelrod knew who they had to get to turn out in the key battlegrounds - especially Ohio. And he did. I consider Alexrod every bit as bad as Rove, if not worse. But he won.

Axelrod knew who they had to get to turn out in the key battlegrounds - especially Ohio. And he did. I consider Alexrod every bit as bad as Rove, if not worse. But he won. I read an article tonight that said the two key states the Rs failed to focus on were CO and NV. OH is obviously important and is still winnable in 2016 but CO and NV are changing rapidly and the Rs simply have not adapted.

November 9, 201213 yr I don't know why it was such a shock. I made a post on here in September and told what the final electoral count would be with states and then again a few days before hand in the swing state prediction thread. The election broke just like the polling averages except for FL which Obama's ground game over performed. If it was really a shock it speaks volumes as to why he ran such a bad campaign and lost.

I thought O'Reilly hit the nail on the head. We are a nation full of people who want stuff.

We are a nation full of people who want stuff. I am baffled by this continued refrain from the conservative demographic. I've had WAY too much time to listen to talk radio this week and read crap on the internet. And most are echoing your sentiments. The majority of the country is NOT voting because they want stuff. And frankly, when the conservative party(ies) realize that, they'll figure out a big part of what they need to do to relate to more than the hard right.
