Your right to vote as you wish. But if you don't care that your candidate relates to the majority, you will be disappointed. But you'll always have your principles. . Seriously, there are issues I don't compromise on. The difference between you and I, though, is that I DO expect my candidate of choice to relate to me, to the rest of the country. I may not agree with everything the candidate campaigns on. But I also don't expect my candidate to only work for me. I choose based upon who will be best for the country as a whole, not a selection of special interest groups.

I think a lot of people share your viewpoint. A lot of those people voted for Mr Romney. You didn't. Cool.

Do me a favor outside of the past to elections find me one other elections where the black vote was 90% or more in favor of one canidate. You are completely ignorant if you think Obama's race didn't play a huge part in the black vote. I'm not saying it's wrong but it's the way it is.

 

For the record this isn't the first time that a president has used government handouts or the promise of handouts to get elected. Some of the others are the most popular in US history. Once again it's not against the rules but it's reality.

Something tells me a lot of those kids come from coal baron families. Or lawyers. Or politicians. Saw a lot of those when I lived in EKY. Of course, every town has its country club set, but wow, Pike Co. really represents.

 

It does. And while all the counties around me voted red, a good number voted for President Obama. Heck, my Twitter and Facebook feed was filled with stupid, racist comments from both sides.....I delted more than 60 from both, red and blue.

I do believe that candidates CAN relate to people like me. One doesn't have to live my life to relate to me or understand the issues important to me.

 

As to compromising, there should always be compromises to achieve the greater good. I recognize that because I have had to make many such compromises in my personal life for the greater good of my family. There were many times I firmly believed something, but we weren't going to move forward as a family unless I adapted to the majority. It always made us stronger because in the end it was successful because we moved together.

Neither candidate really suited me, I chose the lesser of 2 eveils becaue a vote for a 3rd party is a waste.

Yes. Regardless of what race the candidateh is. I just wanted to point that out, because I could not count how many people think "Oh the blacks are just voting for Obama because he is also black." No, they are voting for him because he's a Dem. Now they probably came out in higher numbers, like I stated before, but Obama running did not change their voting patterns.

The GOP party didn't realize it either, that's why all the finger pointing is happening...How can you not notice?

 

I'm not point fingers just simply pointing out that the country has changed. Everyone can say it was this or that but the bottomline is Romney had no chance to win regardless of his stance on issues.
