If you were to run for POTUS, what would be your platform? To keep everything flowing, let's limit it to the top 5-6 items you'd run on.

1. Developing our gas, oil and coal resources.

2. Look at all regulations. Cutting some and streamlining others.

3. Cut the budget by using Connie Mack's idea of cutting everything by 1% every year for 6 years. Called the "Penny Plan"

4. Get rid of the Education and Energy Departments. Cut all of the so-called czars.

5. Have a foreign policy based on "peace through strength". Willing to work with our foes, but they know we talk with them with strength, not cowardice.

1. Take Government out of people's everyday lifes. (Legalization of Marijuana, same-sex marriage, etc.)

 

2. Put an end to Government programs (Social Security, Welfare, Education, etc.)

 

3. Eliminate the Tax Code and the IRS and introduce a Fair Tax and a Use Tax.

 

4. Immigration Reform. Make the process simple and inviting. If they're going to be here anyways, might as well tax them.

 

5. Stop Meddling in the Affairs of Other Countries. It's not our job to be "Nation-Builders" or tell Foreign Governments how to run their countries.

 

6. Energy Independence. Provide our own sources of oil, end our reliance on the Middle East.

Tax Code Over Hall

• Support total revision to tax code. Everyone pays, would look at Flat Tax based on earnings with no deductions. (Sliding Scale from 5% to 30% based on earnings)

• Eliminate most tax loopholes for corporations but would have tax rates that don’t put US business at a disadvantage against foreign companies

• Eliminate Estate Tax (Estate has been taxed, shouldn’t taxed again because it is passed on to next generation)

• Capital Gains taxes capped with a sliding scale based on total earnings 5% to 25% (think 401Ks to family trust funds to super large investments)

If taxes can’t be filed with one piece of paper then I will have failed

 

Budget

• I will have the courage to use a veto to eliminate wasteful spending.

• I will shine the light of day on all wasteful spending and call out those that foster this wastefulness.

• Cabinet Secretaries will verify line item spending and eliminate the unnecessary.

 

Social/Constitutional Issues

• Same Sex Marriage…bottom line it is up to voters in each of the states.

• Abortion…legal but not Federally Funded, up to the states to fund, if it is the will of that state.

• 2nd Amendment…support current “Machine Gun” regulations, opposes banning any semi-auto weapons (including weapons that “Look like AK-47 or M-16”)…support Concealed Carry laws.

• Immigration…support a path to citizenship for all LAW ABIDING Illegals (you know what I mean)

• Separation of Church and State DOES not mean elimination of the Church in the State, support and defend all religious freedom.

• Social Security and Medicare - Americas that have paid for them will get them. Options available to privately invest or stay under current system.

 

National Security

• Kennedy said that within a decade we would put a man on the moon, I say within a decade we become energy independent. By ALL available means.

• Seal the border, without hesitation.

• Take Middle East peace off of our plate and put it on the plate of the Saudis, hold Saudis responsible for the regions security.

 

Foreign Policy

• Restrict Aid to only the neediest and to countries that will embrace the efforts by the USA to assist them.

• Work to find commonality with China and Russia, for the betterment of the world we must work together instead of spending so much energy competing with one another.

• We will no longer be the only “Cop on the beat”, we will assist when needed but others will pull their own weight.

To my mind, this is the toughest. I wish I had a good answer that didn't get me stuck in a continuous loop of recessions and downturns...

- Reinvestment into infrastructure. I was not a big stimulus guy, but some aspects of it were good. Make sure what you spend is not stupidly spent. We have a lot of aging infrastructure and proactive things we can be building as a nation. Solyndra and stuff like that, let the privates deal with.

 

- Election reform. No candidate is allowed to campaign more than 1 month prior to an election with a $20,000,000 spending limit. The role of most of our national officials has now become to run for the next election cycle and I really feel it is at the root of why politics is as ugly as it is today.

 

- Energy dependency. By safe means obviously but utilizing our resources.

 

- Stay clear of other countries and especially those who do nothing to help us even though we give them billions of dollars. George Washington said it best: "It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world." Let the chips fall where they may be. You cannot help those that do not want to be helped.

 

- Education reform and promotion of vocational skills. Nothing irks me more to hear people discuss going to a University and how they should be afforded that right. Bologna. Technical trades are almost demonized in this country and it is really sad.

For those pitching "energy independence" what is your plan?

 

Are you willing to gain independence even if it results in a higher per gallon price? Are you sticking to oil? Where are we getting the oil?

1. Legalize drugs, prostitution, any form of marriage involving consenting adults, euthanasia, and any other victimless crimes.
