Remember guys, wanting to participate and invited to participate are two different things. Some people may have said no thanks...

Lampley was an assitant one year when Joe Hood (WC) was the head coach.

I think that the Ky. Coaches President is usually the coach. I might be wrong but it has been that way the last few years.

Burke probably won't play if he enrolls in summer school at NC State. Fidler being at UK is probably not as big a problem, but that may be a (UK) coaches decision since he is currently a college student

If Glaser would have been the coach when Brohm was a senior, would he have thrown the ball? :D

Is that the complete list? I thought for sure that Campbell County's middle linebacker, Matt Sauerbeck, would have been selected.

He is on the selection committee.

Why is there a complaint about the coaching, they have won them all since 1999 except 1 I believe. That was when John Nochta was coach from Bryan Station. I believe it was stated Louisville had 10 kids on the roster.

A geographic breakdown from the list provided:

WKY - 11

Lousiville - 10

Lexington - 9

EKY - 6

NKY - 5

Central - 4

3, do you have a different list from the one posted in this thread? You have a total of 45 and the list here has 43, also you have 5 from NKY and I see 2 only?

There are 3 from NKY. Bonne County, Highlands and NCC. Not sure why I posted 5, that was the error. There should be the right number now.

Revised:

WKY - 11

Lousiville - 10

Lexington - 9

EKY - 6

CKY - 4

NKY - 3

I think these numbers are pretty representative of the populations in these areas. Although WKY has the most, remember this coach is from Paducah, the farthest west you can get almost, so he will be most familiar with these players and can associate with the coaches out there better. Louisville has 10, a lot more people and they have the second most, nothing wrong with that. Lexington has the 3rd most, they are very populated and got the best players from there. EKY may have the largest area to cover from land wise and they got 6, this is counting Cessna from North Laurel who will not play though so they actually have 5 currently. NKY may have had the least amount of players on the squad but their area is smaller, however, they have some great ball players there and I feel this area was the least recognized, small or not they should probably have more players. Either way it is hard to take any of these players off the list to say you should add more. That is why this is a prestigious list as someone mentioned earlier, there wouldn't be any argument if it wasn't prestigious and every year there are naysayers that say someone shoudl have been on the team. The coaches are also voted on RockPride, so this may or may reflect towards Beatty.

Can you believe that Beatty has never been the coach? I think that is a crock.

Can you believe McGlone, Mitchell, Roark, etc have never been the coach. Each well over 20 years in the state and played in the state when younger, what a crock.

Very good post 3, Also there is a coach from each area that helps in the selection process. There is also a list of alternate players to fill the slots of players who for some reason or another can't make the trip.

They say the coaches are voted on. :thumb:

But no major problems with the coaches, there are a lot of good ones out there and many will get a chance in the future.

But I will agree with Ox and say it's a major, major mistake to leave Eric Senn off this year's team. Honestly, after watching more than 50 teams last season (from all parts of the state) I thought he was one of the top 5-10 players of any class in the state. Maybe Yale said no but I doubt it!

I hope some coach out there agrees with me and tells coach Thomas if they need another player that he has a guy who could start on both sides of the ball for him and on special teams sitting at home!
