I am not shocked to see this result. Trinity has not been on top of their game for a few weeks now. Maybe how they have played recently is the true indicator of how good/average/bad they are now. I hope not. I hope they are better. I hope they can play better especially on defense. T needs to do a little soul-searching. Moeller outplayed them today and beat them. No excuses. Moeller is the better team right now no doubt. The scoreboard says it all.

 

Trinity is fine. They will win state. They will have one loss this season. They are just not as good as last year. But, that was a special year. Their junior and senior classes were stronger last year than this year's junior and senior classes. Bottom line.

Definitely some talented Catholics in Louisville.

And they should! Other than X, there is not a team in the state of KY that can match Trinity's male enrollment, financial resources, or unlimited boundaries.

 

Oh give us a huge break. Why don't you concentrate on "Your team" -- resources, discipline, etc and not worry about T.

Congrats to M. They were the better team today and deserved the W. Doubt the Rocks will face any other team like them. QB was outstanding IMO.

One of their linemen is going to play for Miami Hurricanes.

Running back is going to Northwestern.

Linebacker might be going to Michigan State.

 

You didn't get beat by an average high school team.

I had a hunch that one of those close games we had this season would end up something like this. On the bright side of things this will focus them. I really thought, after watching the first game against Brentwood, that this team would have had a handful of losses on the season. If we finish out with just one, provided we win out in the playoffs, I am pretty satisfied with this season.

For the record, I am very impressed by what Trinity is able to do on a national level. The streak was unbelievable considering they were playing the best competition they could find within a reasonable distance. I just do not find it impressive when Trinity wins the Kentucky 6A state championship. I think that is something Trinity should do considering the male enrollment size and unlimited boundaries are not comparable to any schools in the state of KY, other than X. I do not question the amount of work that the Trinity kids put into football. You can tell by watching them that they are very well coached and work hard to perfect the skills necessary to be successful. I would just be far more impressed if Trinity had 20 or more state championships in the state of Ohio, where many, many teams have the same types of enrollment size, boundaries, etc. Fortunately for Trinity, they are not located in the state of Ohio. I am far more impressed by teams like Highlands that consistently win championships against schools that have comparable enrollment sizes and boundaries.

Enrollment size doesn't matter. Ask Paul Laurence Dunbar or any of the other 6A schools in the greater Lexington area.

But allow me to explain my point. I say enrollment size doesn't matter because some of the biggest schools in the state have average programs. For everyone who wants to say Trinity's enrollment size is why they are good is misleading and insulting. There are plenty of big schools who can't even beat one of the smaller 4A schools. See Paul Laurence Dunbar.

 

Highlands is 4A school and one of the top two programs ever in the state and reputed nationally and has done so with a quarter of the population of Dunbar. Extremely impressive and also proof that the substance of the program is what makes you good. Not the number of kids available.

Very surprised by this score. Trinity, CCH? I wonder who's next in the Commonwealth?:eek:
