I liked what I saw out of a seriously undermanned SK team.

 

 

Stat of the night: Trevor montgomery had 11 fouls :lol: all in the second half.

 

I honestly believe they need to change that rule of not fouling out. Maybe make it seven fouls before your gone but all the games that I saw were much more chippy and or physical than a game where you could foul out.

 

Mark my work, someone is gonna to get hurt from the style of play in these games one year!

How did Dunbar look?

 

Well I know a few of the CovCath kids loved their uniforms, but I only watched a minute or two of the game but they were impressive!

I watched the Dixie game and it got really physical where several blatant fouls were overlooked. I know they are on a time schedule but maybe cut it back a game and give them 7 fouls to get. The Highlands scrimmage wasn't as bad as the Dixie/North Oldham game.

If I was playing and there was not a limit on fouls no player on the other team would EVER get an easy shot.

To me it just looked like summer ball. Hard fouls and lots of them.

Mike Smith, Eric Trigg, and Taylor King all had nice games for PLD. William Gary and EJ Floreal both sat this game out due to injury. Both should be ready for the Bulldogs next scrimmage on Wednesday.

Enough of the fake games! Let do it for real.

I didn't leave very impressed with Dunbar. I did like their point guard, and they had a wing who was really smooth. They are going to have to find someone who can knock down a 3. (could be one the players out with injury MM31 mentioned)

 

However, they should have wiped the floor with the team Simon Kenton put out there and they lost the first half, and only pulled away in the second half in the final 5 minutes to get a 10 point win.

Dunbar won the first half by 4 points but yes it was close. Dunbar's players have to get used to a new system on both ends of the floor. When you play 3 years of zone and then try and teach man to man its a bit of a learning process. Dunbar is much better with Gary and Floreal on the floor.

Dunbar didn't seem to have any player capable of consistently knocking down threes but they were pretty good on defense and made a living in transition.

Highlands handled Ludlow 5 8-55. Jumped out 14-5 to start game and 17-10 to start 2nd half. Ludlow stayed close most of the game scoring mostly against the Bird 2nd5. Witte had a double double with 17/14. Birds shot well and hustled for many loose balls and rebounds. Freshman lefty Jared Daugherty looked good with some nice passes and threes. Several sophomores played well also. Lone junior Brenden Buten's quickness caused fits for the Panthers. Witte locked down Panther stud Mitchell Cody. Cody got all of his points against Bird 2nd 5. The tall lengthy kid for Ludlow, name slips my mind, shoots the 3 very well. He and Cody will have very good years. Thornberry is a nice PG also. Highlands is very thin right now with 4 key players still on the gridiron so the win today bodes well considering the amount of youth out there. ark

 

The tall lanky kid for Ludlow is Jared Howard and PG is Thornsburgh just to clarify, two very nice players who will have nice seasons. Good luck Coach Hart and the Panthers.
