Kelsey Sorrell Memorial Pre season Scrimmages

Featured Replies

I'm very familiar with them. He's a clown and loves to hear himself talk. I just know the facts on this actual statement. Don't worry I've read his outlandish SK football posts all year.

Heaven forbid someone joke around loosen up buddy!

Finally a sport with a roof over my head. I am ready for the season to begin and I never miss the Sorrell scrimmages.

Kelsey was a sweet and beautiful girl who was taken far too soon. It is quite the tribute to her entire family. Please come out and support a great cause. I'll see you in the gym.

Does Dunbar have any good players?

The 5th Kelsey Sorrell Memorial Pre Season Basketball Scrimmages will take place on Saturday, November 17th at Simon Kenton High School in Independence, Kentucky.

Kelsey Sorrell was an 18 year old UK freshmen that was killed in a tragic car accident on January 2, 2008 in Northern Kentucky. Her dad Steve, has coached at Covington Catholic for over twenty years. All proceeds from the scrimmages will go directly to the Kelsey Sorrell Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The varsity team will play in the main gym while the JV team plays in the auxillary gym. Please come out to SK on the 17th and show your support!

9:00 am St Henry vs Gallatin

Highlands has a total of 10 boys practicing with the JV/Varsity at this point. Will another team take that JV spot or will HHS bring the freshmen team?

The frosh team will be taking that spot.

Looks like SK will be short 4 players do to football.

Great opportunity for basketball fans to see some good games in a great atmosphere and support a fantastic cause. Spend a few hours of your Saturday checking out your favorite team, scout a contender or just check out some of the superb players participating.

The Sorrell family and SK staff do a great job raising money for an awesome cause. Gotta love the ability to think about others future after such terrible loss.

The best $5 that I can ever remember spending. A great cause.

Now that the two teams I root for are finished with football it IS basketball time.

Any scores, I'm heading out now with the boy.

Conner defeated Walton by 2 points in the 1st half and by 7 in the 2nd half (they reset the score at half). Both teams were a little sloppy as you'd expect. Conner missed at least 15 point blank lay ups and a ton of FTs as well. They had some very good success in the 1st half with a zone press and played hard the whole game (several charges and floor burns). Walton doesn't have a lot of size but has some shooters. I'd say they had around 10 made 3 point baskets. Watts and Barker did not attend the scrimmage for Conner.
