October 28, 201213 yr Could that be an Eric Davis/Dave Stewart moment for the Giants? I am occasionally prophetic.
October 29, 201213 yr The Fall Classic is becoming a bit boring. 6th time since 1998 the WS has resulted in a sweep. It took from 1954 to 1997 to get 6 sweeps.

Baseball and sports in general are about staying in a routine. The playoffs throw that all out of whack, and the Tigers took off an entire week before playing in the World Series. Not one time through the season does a team take off an entire week, the most being 3 days for the All Star break and every team is forced in to that one. But I am not sure what the answer is. You can eliminate off days during the playoffs which may buy you another day or two. Not sure they can do much. I worry the World Series is going to get relegated to TBS. Ratings are now hinged upon a hand full of teams making the World Series and/or having the series go 6 or 7 games. So the short series are not good in that respect. Have not seen what the numbers are for this one, but I would imagine they are all-time bad with the last two games competing against ND/OU and then Manning/Brees last night.
October 29, 201213 yr Didn't watch any of the World Series. Even though it isn't the reason the Tigers lost I think it's stupid that they waited a week to play. Thy lost any momentum they had and the Giants kept all of the momentum they had built from the Cardinals series.

The Giants wrapped up their series with St. Louis on Monday. Not sure what the solution is.
October 29, 201213 yr I really appreciated the fine pitching performances by the Giants. A baseball purist should have enjoyed this series to a fair degree.
October 29, 201213 yr This is an interesting article on Forbes on revenue lost from each team in a short series. I did not realize it worked this way World Series Sweep Proves Costly For Giants, Tigers And Fox - Forbes
October 29, 201213 yr After lobbying for Cabrera to win the MVP, did he even play in the post-season?

October 29, 201213 yr What did you want them to do? Pretty clear. They should've thrown a game or two vs the Yanks.
October 29, 201213 yr What did you want them to do? That's what I was wondering. NLCS ended on Monday and WS began on Wednesday.
October 29, 201213 yr What did you want them to do? Format and scheduling needs to be changed altogether.
