I wholeheartedly second that.

X wants to keep the game close so that when 4th quarters comes they are in a position to Ball controll & win the game. that's why they tend to not open the playbook up. I think this style of play actually back fire's & the game still gets out of reach.

Disagree with this assesment. X wants to pass the ball as well as run it, but as previously stated for some unknown reason when its time to play T the confidence disappears.

Although personally i don't believe it should.

If Lou X can be efficient passing 15-20 times life will be good. I've always been a fan of sprint outs...gives the QB a deep and medium option, as well as a running option, especially in short yardage situations.

I wholeheartedly second that.

I think a lot of people on here are missing a valid point. In 2009 X beat Trinity 32 - 7 in the regular season and 34 -10 in the State Finals. No one complained about their offense then.

In previous years they tallied 48, 36, 34 points against T in big wins. The exciting state final that T won in overtime 34 - 28, X led 28-21 until the final seconds when T tied the score.

The missing element since 2009 is that Swabek took over as defensive coordinator replacing Terry Bean. Having coached at X for many years, the X staff knew Bean's schemes and how to attack T's defense.

To his credit, Swabek has employed a much tougher defensive scheme with several better atheltes now. Everyone comments about T's offense, but their defense has been a tremendous contributor to their

success since 2009. X needs to score against T to be in the game at the end. This Friday's contest against Cincy X will provide a great test for Lou X's offense as they strive to improve for that November game with T in

a few weeks.

That's my point is, if they want to pass the ball as well as run it but hasn't been the case when facing T when they've fallen behind they still rely heavily on the run. If you look back at the last couples games vs T, when the score was 0-0,7-0,7-6 or 14-6 X was willing to open out the playbook with both passes & runs. but when they fall behind thats when you see less passes & more run's thus causing T to pull away. Now back to Cincy X., the tigers won't be able to rely heavily on the run, they will need to be balanced with both runs & passes to be effective on Cincy X d'fense.

That may be circled in as 1 of the best plays in the playbook. Sprint "" and Sprint "". :)

For the Love of everything you hold dear...GO TIGERS! BEAT THE BOMBERS!!!

For my money, Cincy X is either the best or second best team in their region. I can't see a way Louie X wins this one.

Ohio's D-I, Region 4 playoffs could be pretty entertaining this year. No GREAT teams in the region, but some pretty good depth of good to really good teams will make the first few weeks of the playoffs interesting.

:clap::cool:

Whenever the opportunity presents itself for Lou X to make a big play they can not miss it. Look at the Bucs and Saints last week, Vincent Jackson had a great reception for 90+ yards, but nothing came from it. When the opportunity cames to score on a big play, recover a fumble, block a kick, etc the Tigers must capitalize on those opportunities.

From a fans perspective, are the Tigers improved on defense from the beginning of the season?

Indeed they are, I feel the offense is meshing as well.

I saw that Cincy X was 57th in the country in some poll today. Ironic that they may not be one of the 8 from the Cincy area to make the playoffs.

KY and OH two different sides of the spectrum in regards to playoffs. Neither one seems right...

29 on both calpreps and maxpreps and 57 on rivals. Are they in jeopardy of not making the playoffs with a loss to X?

With a loss I think they are out. With a win they need some help. One help would be Mo beating T.
