Did Joe Frank do his last Highlands game ever as a referee?

Featured Replies

I dont think anyone is saying that the officials had anything to do with the loss.

I think what I have stated and what Iam stating is on the money.

Mr. Frank has earned the right to be positioned to officiate the big games in NKY expecially when it comes to marquee matchups, (ie - Highlands and Boyle and recently Highlands and Elder)

I just think it has become quite obivious that he is not doing the NKY team any favors in these games. Not that he should, but when calls are borderline and or did he or didnt he one would thing the home team would get the swing vote.

This is just not happening when Mr Frank has had Highlands this yr, if anything it has been the total opposite.

I just believe that his days are most likely over doing these games for Highlands and thats just too bad imo.

I guess time will tell.

Are you saying it's "phantom" because you've seen the tape?

Official was right in front of me. He had a clear view of the area he was looking at.[/quote

I have seen the film.

If the rule is that you can not block below the waist on a kickoff - the call was correct. A blocker of HHS dropped down and blocked #29 for Elder.

The kickoff double personal foul penalty was ridiculous. The reason the officials did not see what was happening was that the ball carrier was tackled by the HHS sideline at the 45 and the mauling was occurring back at the 35 on the Elder side of the field. If they would have seen the one sided altercation it would have been a short night for Elder's #10

So how does this work? The home team gets to pick the crew?

I thought Highlands fans never blamed the refs! :D

Sounds like the refs stole cake in cake town!

No. Assignor assigns the crew. Each team, if it's like basketball, is allowed a certain number of scratches.

To be clear, are we saying Joe Frank himself made bad calls or are we saying Joe Frank's CREW made bad calls?

No I think what Iam saying and most are saying is we live in a technology driven media world and everyone has access to it.

Within the last 2yrs officials at all levels have been ridiculed and second guessed and reprimanded for really bad calls by their associations.

I believe that their is still a certain number of officials at the HS level that can't, won't or refuse to be bias and they are just plain ignorant to think that they wont look like silly on film.

The film does not lie, now one person could interpet what they see differently then the next guy but usually everyone at the end of the day agree if the media shows it enough, twists it enough and talks about it enough then all will agree.

To ask if its Joe or if its Joe's crew doesnt really matter imo.

Seems as if the common denominator is present time and time again when it comes to these types of controversies.

Do you have anything intelligent to add to this thread?

The mighty birds lose a game and the refs are now an issue. This is the only Highlands thread (out of the thousands) I have enjoyed this season. No one may be blaming the loss on them but whining is still whining.

Dale doesn't and his opinion is the only one that counts. I would be shocked if the Frank crew got scratched. Ref clearly missed the personal fouls on # 10 early, but I don't think if #10 is ejected it has an outcome on the final score.

Hey, Mr. Can't match my screen name to my avatar, stick to the SK vs whichever 6A team you all are trying to squeak by and worry 'bout that.

I didn't read anything in the update thread or in the final game thread that mentioned the officiating. So what's with the complaining now? It must have took the overnight for the grapes to go sour. It changed from the Birds simply getting beat by a better team to blame the officials and have a great official banned from Highlands games.

So here's what you said in the other threads RB:

I did most of the update thread and I wasn't at the game. I was listening on the radio. Bad source to go to the update thread.

So, If Highlands wins this game, does Joe still run the risk of being black balled? Does this thread even exist with a win for Highlands? No calls were missed that could have been to Highlands favor? I don't know that I ever see a game that there are not calls missed, many by me that the officials get, and I see some the officials miss. Watching film and looking for something you know is going to happen makes it pretty to see.
