Boone with Thompson won the Regional Title just last year and made it to final 4 in state.

Their Sr. and Jr. classes are just down in talent at Boone. Boone has some good talent in the Sophomore and Freshman classes.

Durham ran for 220 yards on 26 carries 3 TDs. 10/13 passing 190 yards 2 TDs.

The problems are deeper than a simple lack of talent. NKY 6a was not overwhelming last year either. Someone had to progress in the tournament. CC was only 3-7 last year with all wins in district. Boone is now the only program in the county w/o its own feeder system. Their whole OL is just flat out of shape. Execution mistakes galore. The program needs someone committed and invested in a feeder system. QB's in particular need to be developed in the middle school years. Freshman year is too late to convert someone to QB.

 

Furthermore, this Boone team has more talent than its District competitors with the exception of CC.

Tylere Durham is a great player. I think that the whole team deserves credit with the way the team has turned it around. Like I said he is a great player but there a lot of people that make him as good as he is. He deserves the credit that he gets but lets give some credit to the rest of the team. I have always been taught that 1 player doe not make a team.

When they start putting blocking stats in the paper we can single out o-linemen.

 

The QB always gets the love. Always gets the hate when they stink. It's a glory position.

 

With that you are 100% correct and Coach L would be the first to agree with you. Durham , as good as he is, has to have some semblance of a running lane in order to get that big body going the right way.

Take compliments that Tyler gets as compliments to the team. He will be the first to admit he doesn't do it alone. The Media, the fans, the message boards talk. The TEAM has accomplished great things with more to come. So enjoy any and all praise. Don't feel slighted. The team loves and supports each other. Fans need to do the same.

Tyler Durham is one of the most humble kids out there. He would be the first to tell you he can't do anything without Avery Wood, Jack Zabonick, Tim Weimer, Josh Griffith, Logan Schneider, Jordan Mason, Dan Couch, Joel Brune, Alex Howard & Bobby Moore (the starting 11 in the past 4 games). If you watch any football, the lineman are the grunt players who get very little credit but Tyler knows who should get the credit.

 

This team is finally playing well and putting it all together, and PLAYING TOGETHER! Just support and cheer for the team they are fun to watch and I do not think there are any hard feelings amongst any of the kids towards each other.
