Ryle 27 Highlands 21 OT (Frosh)

The England kid gives me some concern for Beechwood. The video on you tube is impressive. Beechwood will need to fly to the ball and gang tackle. They are capable of doing that but they better get it done.

I wouldn't worry about it. Beechwood swarms to the ball and gang tackles. Beechwood is the best tackling team in NKY. Key on Ryle's back and it's over.

Beechwood is going to get beat by cov cath.

Not going to happen

Some pictures from the game.

Thought it was a well played game. Fun to watch.

Is England #7 for Ryle?

Yes, and he is very good.

How come Ryle is wearing black as a visitor?

Here is the video I saw on youtube

lets set the record straight. Ryle's 1st touchdown was scored by Johnny Meiman on a short run, and Ryle's winning touchdown was scored by Mitchel Bateman. Colin England is one of the best young players in NKY. He is a legitimate Freshman. He is also a very good student in the classroom. This group began playing together as Union Raiders as 7th graders (33 of 45 players) They have lost three games in that time. Ryles' freshman program has benefited from some great additions from the Boone County Peewee Football league. This group has a chance to be special.

If Beechwood & Ryle win next week they will play in the Championship..

Pretty sure its set after last night. BW, even with a loss to colonels, is in with just 1 loss. Ryle would own the tie breaker on the birds.

England looks like the real deal. Gonna be 2 pretty good runners on the field in championship, and more importantly two really good young teams. Future looks bright for NKy football.

Ask OG:ylsuper:

Well if I had been there, the BGP's readers would have at least an idea of how the game progressed, even if I didn't post the names of the players.

Too bad really and not one mention of a HHS player who scored or played well!

Who both should be Sophomores yes?

Oh good golly! Does a kid or parent really have to see his or their kids name on a message board to feel good after a loss? Please! I ask you, what would the kid do today at school. Walk around the halls saying, we lost but did you see the touchdown I had. Or that tackle I made. My name was on BGP! Lol! If so, then he or parent could care less about the "team". And how do we know the same kid didn't miss an assignment that led to a touchdown for the opposing team. People, grow some skin! It's alright that there is no play by play breakdown of the game. Really it's alright. Some people live for that. Some don't!

What does this mean? Lots of kids are held back depending on their birthday.

I like to read the kids names. Sometimes I know them from other sports or know their parents through friends or work.

See that is where we differ. I don't always see losing "a game" as being the end of the world. If you played your best and gave it your all, sometimes your best isn't going to be good enough and you lose. Big deal, it happens and it's going to happen throughout your entire life even to HHS kids! So why not congratulate the kids who did well, even in a lose?

I think names are important also. Whether it be touchdown makers or linemen. It is nice for people to see the names of players that they will be seeing for the next 3 years, It doesn't matter if it is in a win or a loss. Freshman football, win or lose, is for building for the future.
