I want to hear more about tunnel gate!

Conner Fans seem to get uptight about everything. From Cheerleaders setting up a tunnel, to not telling Ryle they can broadcast live. If you didn't want them to broadcast make a phone call and tell them. It is no secret that they have been filming for a few years, if you didn't want them to film man up and tell them. Don't do it after they already had it rolling. That is Busch League. Originally, I thought Ryle was told that they could not broadcast it but, it seems that message was never passed along. I'm going to go ahead and guess that the reason Conner didn't beat Ryle by 1,000 is because they were being broadcasted live on ihigh, and were distracted. Right??? Can someone lend a tissue to everyone who has cried over the issues Conner has had to deal with this year?

 

I wonder if anyone has taken the time to think "Hey, maybe Conner told the broadcast crew they didn't have permission, and they went ahead and did it anyway." Nooooo. Nobody would take the time to think that, it's Conner who is in the wrong, it's a little ridiculious that this thread has 4 pages worth of posts in it, pretty much all saying how Conner should have done this, Conner should have done that.. blah blah blah..

 

And those who keep bringing things up from the past (1-the tunnel thing, which was and will always be a punk move by the schools who did it. They know it, Conner coaches, fans and players know it. 2-The coach from an opponent's school sitting in his car at practice), that have been beaten into the ground over and over again, should probably either 1.) get a new hobby or two 2.) find some other way to satisfy their childish needs, like maybe go push someone down on the playground.. What are we, in third grade? I think that is the functioning level of many posters on here. It's comical.

The more I think about this one .... the one I think that I agree with Conner here.

A couple things to think about:

*Who truly owns the intellectual property of Conner football? (I am thinking that it is not Ryle).

*It is the responsibility of the outside party to seek all proper permissions to tape at a location other than your own (meaning--it was the responsibility of Ryle's broadcast crew to gain permission to broadcast the game at Conner.

*To take this further ... how many issues could occur by taping kids (without the permission of their parents)?

*Are there rules from the KHSAA that speak to broadcasting events? (There is in Ohio and other states).

*If I am a parent in this situation ... I am not so sure that I want my son/daughter filmed without my permission ... especially if that film ends up on the internet.

 

On the other side of the fence:

*Is it really that big of a deal? Depends on who you are and what you believe.

*I would be more concerned about the widespread usage of hudl. Films can be traded/given at basically any time and without any effort.

 

At the end of the day--it sounds like Conner played by the rules. If Ryle asked for permission to film and that permission was granted ... then they have a case. Otherwise--it falls on them to seek permission when going anywhere other than their home. That is on them ... not Conner.

IMO the home team should choose. Revenue could be important in regards to whether teams are allowed to broadcast to an outside audience or not. Do the schools make any money in advertising during these broadcasts?

And if it did .. which coach was it? What kind of car was it? (Oh yeah ... that's right ... not only were all the coaches from the opposition at practice at that time .. but none of them have the type of "spymobile" that the accuser mentioned).

May have not been a coach, could have been a representative of the school, a coaches buddy, etc.. The point is, it happened three months ago.. Drop it already.

Can't believe all of the posts in this thread about something that's pretty trivial. Lot of people talking about Conner these days, they must be relevant or who would give a darn about what's going on in Hebron? Lots of interest in the Cougars this season. Interesting. People don't talk about things that are irrelevant. Conner should be concerned when they stop getting talked about.

I DIDNT BRING IT UP.. There are several other posts in this thread poking fun at the "tunnel gate" and "spy gate" crap.. It's childish, all around. If you are so certain that it did not happen, than you should know it in your heart and be done with it. No need to "refute" it everytime it gets brought up. I agree with you 100% that Conner will go further in the playoffs than SK. But if you look at strength of schedule SK's is a 19.5 and Conner's is a 18.8.

Thats true, but Conner has also had a weak schedule. They are very inconsistent, having lost to Dixie and South. Their playoff competition will also be weak until the state finals.

Just remember for all visiting teams that go to Conner to play. Conner fans do not want your players to avoid and run around the Conner cheerleaders and tunnel because that is considered bush league, you should run right through their cheerleaders, that is what they want. haha
