Yuck on South Carolina. I'll pull for the kid wherever he goes, but I'm hoping someone else--anyone else on God's green earth--secures the services of Mr. Barker.

SC is a legit possibility. Loved his visit there and loved Spurrier. Has a really strong relationship with the QB coach who came to Conner to watch him. SC told him he is the only qb they are offering from 2014.

Yea, the ole ball coach can rub people the wrong way (not one of my favorites) but you have to admit that he runs a system that is great for a passing QB. A QB like barker could flourish in that type of system.

Oh, I wholeheartedly agree. I just don't have much of a stomach for Spurrier. One of my least favorite coaches in all of sports. Ever.

First of all congrats to the Barker kid. Talent alone seldom gets you this type of recognition. My guess is a lot of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice have put him in this fvorable position.

 

Drew will be visiting Notre Dame this weekend (no offer yet) and then Ohio State next weekend for the Michigan game.

 

Unless something drastic happens I would expect my man to decide in January. An offer from ND could make things interesting.

Randy Parker is a good guy, but on this one I disagree with him. If I was a quarterback, I'd love to play for Spurrier. And SC is a big time program, located three hours from the ocean. That wouldn't be the worst five year gig in the world, if you ask me.

LSU invited him down last summer but he had a conflict with another school and didn't make it. I don't think they've been active with him.

 

He went to camp at Bama and met with Coach Saban. They told him he was on the list of QBs. I think they are still somewhat in touch but not consistently.

 

Could it slip past January? Yes. Plans obviously change.

I believe that all of the rated players have had in person evaluations. The rating services have their credibility on the line and work hard at what they do.

Would be highly unusual for this to happen. Rivals put out their Top 250 list for the Class of 2014 yesterday and had a live chat to discuss the players. The team of evaluators had seen everyone of the kids.

Kinda why I asked the question about Jan. My guess is things are going to get a little crazy around his house. Based on your last post, looks like they already are.

 

He's worked himself into a very good position when it comes to recruiting. My guess is he'll soon see some of the ugly side of it. Hard pitches, and must sign now type stuff. I hope he enjoys the process and ultimately finds the best place to play at the next level.
