October 7, 201213 yr The emergency call for a pitcher to fill in first inning tonight reminded me of game 2 in the '90 world series. Rijo had pitched game 1. Danny Jackson started game 2. Browning was scheduled to start game 3 in Oakland. The Reds burned through the bullpen (at home) in game 2. The game went into extras. Tom Browning had been released to be with his wife while she was giving birth at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. They couldn't reach Browning. Marty and Joe put the call out over the radio for anyone who came into contact with Browning to have him come back to Riverfront Stadium, ASAP. Lou wanted to put him into the game. A couple of freakish plays in the bottom of the 10th ended the game before he made it back.
October 7, 201213 yr Toots really, really disappointed me.I'm disappointed in myself. I just woke up with my laptop in my lap and "Blue Streak" on the TV. I felt it coming on, knew it was going to happen but still couldn't hack it. I will have to work hard to redeem myself. Gotta get back to sleep, need to be at work by 7.
October 7, 201213 yr Just now finally getting to bed, however great win today by the Reds. Especially considering how the game started out with Cueto getting hurt. It was huge for them to take game one!!! Go Reds!

October 7, 201213 yr I don't know how much I'll be posting during the games. Regardless, huge win by the Reds. Something like 71% of team advance in a 5 games series after winning game 1.
October 7, 201213 yr I can't imagine how good a long run by the Reds will be for the local economy. Jerzeez was packed for the game and my guess is most other places were too from the few people I talked to.
