I wouldn't have bunted because of Stubbs coming up.

Don't use logic, RP. It's not favored in these parts.

Can not give runners away...you have to be kidding me!

I don't disagree with starting the runners. Hannigan has one thing going for him offensively, he makes contact. What he doesn't have is speed, he runs like his shoes are still in the box. However, it's basically a hit and run swing there. I don't disagree with that call, I disagree wholly with Hannigan's lack of freakin' execution. He's sucked, simple as that.

All they need out of Stubbs is contact. If you don't think he can at least put the bat on the ball there, he has no business being in the game. Most likely scenario is they walk Stubbs to force the Reds to use a PH'er and then you've got Frazier up.

Is this your first Reds game?

Should've at least taken a defensive swing.

How long have you been watching Stubbs?

With the your strikeout leader and pitcher spots coming up? How does that guarantee a run?

B/c if they pitch to Stubbs you bunt in a run. I take my chances w/ that over a hit and run on a 3-2 count.

I agree he should have swung. Still say starting the runners was stupid.

I don't think they'd walk Stubbs, partially because that puts the tying run on base/go-ahead run at the plate. But mostly they wouldn't walk Stubbs because he's Stubbs.

If you don't think a position guy can make contact, he has no business ever seeing the field. So I don't buy the "Stubbs was on deck" argument against bunting.

I know he strikes out a lot but he puts it in play 66% of the time.

3 run game. I'm surprised they have made it this close after that 6-0 disaster. Keep 'em coming.

No way the put Stubbs on he would be the 6th run.

I would have been surprised if they walked him too but as I said, either way you get back to the top of the lineup quicker and maybe Stubbs or a pinch hitter makes something happen.

He doesn't make contact enough, which is why he isn't leading off and he can't bunt, which is why he doesn't make contact that much, and isn't leading off.

If the Reds postseason fate is on Drew Stubbs' ability to bunt they are worse off than I thought.

they may not say it but it is an elimination game.

Not in the sense they are using it regarding Dusty because using your logic Dusty would have won some elimination games because he has won playoff series, and those other teams were eliminated when they won.
