Patrick Towles is frustrated

^ How many of those would be top players in the SEC? I think there is a big difference in B-East, and MAC recruits than the ones the top SEC teams go after. That was my point. Most of the Ky D1 Ky kids really wouldn't help UK get to the top in the SEC. Those kids are in Fla. Ga, and Texas. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure had UK landed those players, they would have been better, but still not competing with the SEC big boys.

Top player in the SEC? I'm not sure what that means. But if it means actually start or significantly contribute for UK at a level that out of state kids have played while at UK, I think Collinsworth could have become a top player in the SEC. Same with Grubbs (Warford has done so and Grubbs was more talented in high school with much quicker feet and balance); Gino likely; Dawson obviously; same with Quick and possibly Hatcher; Blivins likely; Bruns possibly (I thought his athleticism was on Miles Simpson level; biggest difference, Bruns was never given the opportunity to run the ball and attract the attention that Miles got as a running back).

Lamar Dawson would have helped that porous defense. I'm certain Austin Collinsworth would provide consistent and steady hands as a receiver.

Not saying they'd be world beaters and bring an SEC East division title but it would have been nice to see them at UK and they would have helped on the field and off. As was said, if the best from Ky don't come why should anyone from SEC territory come as well?

Bingo. You nailed it, particularly the bolded.

A big sign that Football does not look good for UK is when your back up third string quarterback being frustrated is news to anyone!!!! Be QUIET!

You know it wasn't from PT right?

The young man just wants to play and contribute. From the small sample size we got a glimpse of on Saturday, I have to think that the coaches saw what many of us who have followed his HS career have known for a while... PT is a very competitive player who will be successful when given the opportunity.

PT has a high ankle sprain. No surgery required. Out this week.

He was 4th string. That is part of the problem at UK. Gotta be able to evaluate your own talent pool. They cannot.
