Probably so. Wayne finished second to Somerset in the district that season, making the playoffs, where they lost to Leslie County in the first round. Corbin finished fourth in the district in 1987, although they did have a 6-4 record.

Indeed. Somerset, Corbin, Middlesboro, Wayne, and Russell County.

Wayne Co. has a fine team. Corbin had their chances but couldn't pull it off.

 

Corbin made too many costly mistakes and turnovers to win against a good team. Waddle had a good game running the ball for Corbin, gaining around 80 yards on only 8 carries. He is the fastest kid on Corbin's team, probably needs to run more often.

 

Wayne has a good team, not sure they played their best game either as they had some crucial turnovers, just not as many as Corbin. Their D made two bigtime stops on 4th down and short when Corbin had it down in the red zone, which was pretty much the difference in the game.

Corbin may be one of the most snakebitten teams I've ever seen. It's as if they can play with almost anyone yet can beat almost no one. They are just a hair from being unbeaten and a hair from being winless.
