14th Region!!!!

People are saying the region is weak but its not its just that good this year. Leslie Co and Hazard two teams that were pick on top in the pre-season have started off bad, but look for them to pick it up in the next few weeks. Perry Co would be the team on top right now but then again they did lose to JBS at Home. JBS beats Perry @ Perry, Jackson City beats Hazard @ Hazard, Jenkins beats Letcher @ Letcher. Who would have picked this in the pre-seaon. This year JBS and Jackson City aren't the same teams as the last few years, they can play ball, and Hazard is in for a dog fight in the All "A". The 14th Region is a good region this year because there are 8 or 9 good teams.

Top 5 could be in any order.

When PCC loses to June Buchanan and Hazard loses to Jackson City...the region is down. Period.

I'm sure they are...better than they usually are, but Hazard and PCC are way down or else they wouldn't lose to those teams.

PCC and Hazard aren't all the 14th. There are other teams. So Jackson City and JBS have had bad teams in the past. Both teams worked hard to get better and they both have. Sure Perry Central has been the tops in the 14th for a few years. But, just like UK in the SEC, sometimes other programs catch up to you and knock you down. I really believe that there will be another team from the 14th going to Rupp other than PCC or Hazard.

Perry Central will be playing its best basketball when it counts the most in tournament time. They always do. Some of the traditionally weaker teams have made some major progress this season and should be commended for it. However, It's a lot different playing Perry Central in January than it is in March. Perry Central has a lot of talent and people will soon see that. They also have the best coach in the mountains in Al Holland. When tourney time comes around in the district and region I don't think anyone will want to draw Perry Central out of the hat.

Yes this region looks to be very open the way i see it. It will be anyones game when the tourny rolls around. Cant wait to see what happens. :thumb:

If Leslie wins the WYMT Mountain Classic tonight, then they have to be considered as the top team in the 14th.
