Is CovCath v Highlands the most overrated rivalry in Kentucky?

Then again if you just used only the years from 2000 to the present how many Baseball or Basketball Ninth Region Championship would HHS have?

Basketball 1

Baseball 0

I think having only 1 Ninth Region Championship in the last 11 years or so in Basketball and or Baseball, proves the point about Football at HHS!

LOL! Spin it TOG! Spin it!

Will Cov. Cath. have to go through Johnson Central to get back to Ft. Thomas in the playoffs?

Great pic, nice post Flotsam.

Recently HHS fared better than CovCath in golf, baseball, and cross country. Maybe its not just football.

Oh jeez, I thought this was lost in the BGP files. Oh and BBW, "oh no you di-nt"!

Mexi,

Have you ever thought( and tried)of breaking into a building so you could pour concrete into a cannon? If not, you have no idea what a rivalry is!!

Naw, there is no rivalry at all, none what so ever between CovCath and HHS:idunno:

There will be no problem parking around Ft. Thomas this Friday night! :sssh:

Both schools will lose money because of the lack of attendance at the game!

Both schools Internet Radio teams will stay home due the lack of interest in the game! Heck even the grandparents in Fla. the uncles and aunts in Arizona and California the grads in the colleges throughout the USA and our military grads in Europe, and the Middle East won't be listening to the game, as none of them care. :notworthy:

Yep. this rivalry is the most overblown rivalry of any two outstanding Academic schools in the Commonwealth and "The Boss" won't be making Blue Bird pie and a large Cake for the Colonels to eat this week after practice on Wednesday. :ohbrother::lol:

And hopefully the kids can keep it clean in the cyberspace world.

Got me there. I am clueless as to what a rivalry is. Just bc you dislike a team doesn't make it a good rivalry. I agree that for CC and H, this is THE game, but from the outside looking in, Highlands has this thing so one sided that it really isn't a competitive rivalry. If you took out the names and replaced them w teams A and B, people would look at the historical scores and say that Team A has such a huge advantage, how is this considered better than other rivalries out there?

Did anyone read the title of the thread? I never said that there was no rivalry. What I said was it is overrated.

Could be over rated. I thought playing NCC was more of a rivalry growing up because we know these guys. Lots of HHS and NCC players know each other from day one. In my opinion, rivalry would range across all sports and be something felt from a very young age. Since we don't play NCC anymore (in football) then it appears that Cov Cath has supplanted them as our rival. Campbell county used to also be quite a rivalry back in the day. Once Cov Cath moves up to 5A, the rivalry will die with it.

As I stated previously it's a rivarly amongst the two and that's really all that matters. I will say that it's not as bitter as it used to be and that's probably due to the Birds' dominance.

If you want bitter go to the County of Boone and see Conner and Cooper. THAT is a bitter rivalry. You won't find many on either side rooting for the other to do well. I've often said people underestimate the level of rivalry that is Dayton/Bellevue. Conner/Cooper is right there with them.

huh?

I don't know how good it will get but right now Conner and Cooper are building a pretty nice little rivalry
