Will the NCAA Investigate former Duke player Lance Thomas?

Featured Replies

If this story's subject would of been about Perry Stevenson, the world would of stopped revolving. Duke does appear (I could be wrong) to get hall passes for whatever reason and I'm not sure why, very perplexing. Reminds me of Bill Clinton. If George Bush would of done what Clinton did with Ms. Lewinsky, can you imagine the backlash? He would of been required to register as a sex offender for life. But Clinton is a hero and revered. Clinton is Duke, Bush is UK. I'm laughing while typing this. Good stuff.

After what Obama has done to this country he should be the one who has to register as a sex offender. If you catch my drift.:D

You say Duke gets hall passes yet we still have no evidence of wrong doing here and other than the Myron Piggie case what am I missing that has happened at Duke? If you want me to act like schools that are repeat offenders are victims I'm not going to.

I love the whole 'if this was UK we'd get the death penalty' attitude. You guys are ALWAYS the innocent victims.:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

Poor little Duke.

You mean poor little sweet innocent victim UK and Coach Cal. The NCAA is always picking on us.:cry:

I know the grumbling gets tiresome, but most UK fans can have a true beef with this type of thing IMO. I know you were just throwing out some sarcasm there, but the Enes situation is just another example. Guys like Ryan Boatright can be handed almost $10,000 from an agent but can still play? There were other examples of things like that that happening the last couple of years, I'm having trouble thinking of them right now. But theres been a few players in almost the same situation as Enes be ruled eligible all the while Kanter was not. He even tried to take precautionary steps to try and make sure he would be eligible but that was still not good enough for the NCAA committee.

So to me trying to be unbias, there has been little consistency in the NCAA's rulings. It is almost sickening. After some of the rulings handed out the last few years theres no way I can say the NCAA has been consistent, with or without blue shades on.

I'm not saying the NCAA has been consistent. I just don't think they turn a blind eye to Duke and cast a Big Brother eye on UK and USC. And every situation is different. Every situation.

I guess we will see after this all play's out. IMO though, I don't expect the NCAA to do anything.

Don't expect them to find any wrongdoing or don't expect them to do anything regardless of what they find out?

yeah, they're all different in respect to which side of the bed the NCAA got up on that morning.

USC? - thrown to the wolves

Piggie? - No problem

UNC academic fraud? - No big deal

Derrick Rose has questionable SAT? - Drop the hammer

Darrell Arthur has his grades changed? - No problem

Cam Newton's dad shops him to schools? - Guess its OK, no rule against it.

Penn State scandal? - Throw out the rulebook, we do what we want.

UK hasn't been in trouble, but they sure do get investigated every chance the NCAA gets.

Calipari on the other hand has gotten the shaft twice IMO, especially at Memphis. The NCAA stated that they know he didn't have anything to do with it. They know Memphis had nothing to do with it. However they still got punished by vacating the season Rose played.

USC-star running back's parents got a new home.

Piggie-NCAA Inconsistency

UNC fraud-NCAA inconsistency

Derrick Rose-cheated on SAT and shouldn't have been eligible

Darrell Arthur-NCAA inconsistency

Cam Newton-if no proof of money exchanged hands what do you do but I'll give you NCAA inconsistency

Penn State-I'm too biased to say anything. They got what they deserved.

Why the NCAA didn't do anything about Piggie, UNC and Kansas is beyond me but I don't believe they have on blinders. Just very inconsistent.

So Steve Fisher got the shaft when Webber and other Fab Five members were found to have gotten cash?

Don't expect them to find any wrongdoing or don't expect them to do anything regardless of what they find out?

As long as you agree that the NCAA is terribly and habitually inconsistent, we're on the same page. Unfortunately I think its more than just being "inconsistent" and leaning heavily towards "playing favorites." UNC and Duke are "golden boy" type programs for the NCAA, and I think the NCAA will go out of their way to avoid punishing them. That way the NCAA can put forward a good public face.

Will they investigate Duke? Yes.

Will they find anything wrong? Not enough to take victories/banners.
